Phantastic historic building, best view over the city and the surrounding hills, don't miss the museum.

I stayed in front of the amphitheater and it was wonderful to enjoy it every day from the hotel terrace (Zaman ya Zaman). The hotel is plain (2*) but of a good quality/price and a good breakfast. The visit to Downtown in Amman is worth it especially for the amphitheater, but also for "enjoying" the street life of this city. Yet, ... merchants will try to cheat you in many of the sites that you enter, ... I am not sure that it is the best place to buy something. ESPECIALLY AVOID the coffee shop in the photo, in the same Al-Hashimi st.,... scam guaranteed,... they tried it twice with me :( Even so, taking a walk through downtown is an experience that deserves the sorrow.

We visited this site, and were so grateful to have had a guide with us to explain the history and the folklore of the area. The grounds were extensive, with many different structures to explore. The views of the surrounding areas were breathtaking as we went late afternoon and watched the sunset. A lovely afternoon adventure.

If you pass by Qasr el abd you should see the caves ! Natural caves with tunnels between them offering you an information concerning how some people used to live there!

It’s a nice mosque, especially outside. I went inside, but it wasn’t that impressive.
Women can’t go into the main areas. And it’s crowded during the prayer times.

We turned to Naje to get the most authentic experience; and he delivered this and more!

We were able to describe the experiences we were looking for native to Jordan and the Jordanian people, and Naje was able to tap into exactly what we needed see and experience.

We learned about the city or Amman, took exiting and native drives to excellent restaurants, and experience food with Bedouins, and other cafe's and eateries. His tours for us included such interesting places that most don't know about in Jordan. In Petra he helped us make unusual accommodations to tour both via horse and via golf cart. He is able to assess well to what we needed, and it made our entire experience a most memorable one.

Naje is also professional and trustworthy, and goes above an beyond. He even went out of his way to bring my husband a coat to use on our last day's tour as it was getting colder.

We highly recommend, and can't wait to book more tours with Naje / Lilias Tours!

Nice little apartment @ Downtwon. Well serviced and maintained. You can spend 15-30 mins max up there looking at some traditional souvenirs from Jordan's history in the 20th century . Probably the best experience you will experience is the balcony view over downtown area (King Faisal Street). Good spot of photos and selfies.

Over all, if you are downtown, it won't hurt to pass by for a visit. If you miss it, it is not a big deal.

I passed by here twice but it seemed to be closed for the public as it is completely fenced off. Yes, i could only stare through the fence and did not learn anything about the place but i believe it was a public fountain..

The Ayyubid Watchtower is very near the Temple of Hercules but most people give it a miss as only part of the walls are still standing. It was constructed by the Ayyubids 800 years ago, to enable them to keep watch over Amman. The tower is about 75 square meters and has recently been partly restored. The walls have 3 slits in them for the archers to release their arrows. The Ayyubids came to power in Egypt during the 12th century and their dynasty lasted about 300 years
