We drove in a buggy in Wadi Araba. Amazing scene, high adrenaline and spectacular view. If you are searching for a place that is not crowded with hundreds or tourists, this is the place to go.

I have traveled to over 40 countries and visited many historic and archaeological sites. This one stands out as one of the top on my list for it's dramatic location and rock formations, for the unique tombs and homes carved into the mountainsides. There are ruins of a very large temple, church ruins with mosaics, etc. This site has it all. Most important items can be viewed in a 4-5 hour day (excluding a hike up to the sacrificial high place). But you need to be in reasonably good shape since there are lots of steps on uneven rock to access some of the sites close up.

One day here - recommended by our hotel Double Tree Hilton. Was a lovely relaxing day by the pool. The staff on the whole were very welcoming. The lunch time buffet was good value for money and very delicious.

Only downsides were that we booked the snorkelling with the company that was on site - Sinbad - and we had a poor experience with them (that’s in a different review). Also - compared to what the outside looks like the changing rooms and toilets were clean but could do with a makeover and a lick of paint. But it was all clean. Also - poolside music was rubbish but what can you do.

I'm not a 'car' person but was very pleasantly surprised by this museum. It was well laid out and had some beautiful cars. Really interesting.

I stayed in front of the amphitheater and it was wonderful to enjoy it every day from the hotel terrace (Zaman ya Zaman). The hotel is plain (2*) but of a good quality/price and a good breakfast. The visit to Downtown in Amman is worth it especially for the amphitheater, but also for "enjoying" the street life of this city. Yet, ... merchants will try to cheat you in many of the sites that you enter, ... I am not sure that it is the best place to buy something. ESPECIALLY AVOID the coffee shop in the photo, in the same Al-Hashimi st.,... scam guaranteed,... they tried it twice with me :( Even so, taking a walk through downtown is an experience that deserves the sorrow.

    Breathtaking
We went from Aqaba by taxi (20JOD) and we were picked up by a 4WD that the tent camp arranged.
We were brought to our lovely tent. At sunset we made a sunset tour by 4WD and a warm dinner was waiting for us.

    We stayed 3 nights!

Unforgettable experience due to the nice people and amanzing place!!

    Soak up the Orient 😀
Vivid, colourful, exotic, smells of spices, roasted nuts, chestnuts, corn and dozens of stalls selling sweets, confectioners, ice cream, toys on one side and shops on the other, selling souvenirs, clothes, fresh juices, parfumes, shining gold shops., cafés, restaurants, old buildings... Al Balad is a busy place, full of people and cars. Strangely enough, all this hustle and bustle is a kind of relaxing. Do not miss The Duke's Diwan - the oldest building in the heart of Amman, Roman theatre, Hashem restaurant, king Faisal avenue with beautiful tall palm trees. Enjoy during the day, also at night 😀

Worth a climb if you enjoy walking in the bible. Church is a special peaceful place with beautiful history. There was a sandstorm the day we went so no view but it’s supposed to be good!

Don’t bother with an organised tour, take and Uber or local taxi and pay entry, there’s not much to be guided through as self explanatory.

Had a chance to actually float in the Dead Sea and experience the buoyancy. An awesome place, an experience of a lifetime!

The mosque is so beautiful at night, when it's dark and the mosque itself in white, all tourists taking photos and so did we.

Not about the political or social history of the country, but mostly about its "archaeological history" is this museum with not too many but a "fairly impressive number" of artifacts from different periods of the country's history (such as the Three Kingdoms Period & the Nabataean Period) to go around and see in a number of rooms with the last one being that for the famous Dead Sea Scrolls where on display is also the jar or such in which the scrolls were found (although as seen in the glass case are like "2 long-shaped" ones) & an info display of their discovery. And apart from archaeological items, it was good to learn here some interesting facts like that the people in this area already had a "water engineering" system some thousands of years ago & that the area in the ancient times was like a "trading confluence" of 3 continents (Asia, Europe & Africa), and also nicely set up in one room is like a "bedouin living room" (mostly a carpet with utensils & such around it as such can likely be found in a bedouin hut or tent).

And although not in the Old Town itself, just outside this museum on one side is like one end of a "big street" which goes through the Old Town with plenty of miscellaneous small shops (not much for souvenirs but mostly for all kinds of everyday items), and actually just a "straight walk" along that street for about 10 minutes through the Old Town and about another 5 minutes past it is just the site of Roman Amphitheater ("to the right" from the big street with an area like a medium-sized square between the street & that "high structure").

Must do if you're visiting Jordan. Very inspiring to visit the place where the Christian story of personal redemption begins.
