- I visited this place🇫🇷🇺🇸🇬🇷🇨🇭🇬🇧Israel35,002 contributionsPROS
* Easiest way to transit within Tel Aviv and suburbs
* Clean fast smooth quiet and efficient with no traffic congestion
CONS
* It doesn't go near many tourist attractions
* It is only near the beach at Jaffa
* You need a RavKav card or the Moovit application in order to travel
* The stations are huge but without concession stands
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because i was returning from a conference at the hotel. It is very easy to ride and it was a fun experience again. As I've written previously, riding the underground section was as if I was in London, Paris, Rome, Athens, Amsterdam, Warsaw, NYC or DC, except that it was clean, shiny and bright and very very quiet.
WOULD I DO THIS AGAIN?
I'd be happy to do that
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Of course- NIS5.50 per ride
ADVICE
* It is fun, convenient and efficient, so you should for sure do it
* It requires a Rav Kav Israeli transportation card or Moovit app before you go
* Be sure to include the underground segment in your adventure journey.Written May 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - I visited this place🇫🇷🇺🇸🇬🇷🇨🇭🇬🇧Israel35,002 contributionsPROS
* This is a major inter-city means of public transport for coastal cities and also Jerusalem and other non coastal cities
* The website and smartphone application give good information, including all information regarding the train schedule- arrival time, train number, track/platform numbers
* It is usually on time
• Surprisingly always clean
• Very smooth and super quiet direct non-stop high- speed (ke160 kph) access from airport to Tel Aviv and to Jerusalem
* Signs and announcements also in English
CONS
• There can be tines when it is quite crowded and noisy, especially during rush hours including much of the day.
• Stations generally not near nor adjacent to major famous tourist attractions
• Some stations busy & unattractive- functional at best
* Inside Tel Aviv city stations (Hagana, HaShalom and Savidor-Arlozoroff) have toxic fumes and exhaust.
• Never any service on Sabbath and Jewish holidays from sundown the day before
* The best method of payment is with the Moovit app, only in Hebrew
• Otherwise, one must buy a ticket from the information desk OR have a Rav Kav card, which I’ve read can need purchased at the airport, but the payment system is not terribly user-friendly.
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
… because I took the train to the airport to go to Paris last week. The train passed through Tel Aviv stations.
Also, I love the trains and train travel, and I'm always eager to ride one- to just about anywhere because I just about always enjoy the experience.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Full fare is with the cost, and I have 50% senior reduction of that
WOULD “I VISIT THIS PLACE” AGAIN?
For sure
ADVICE
• Avoid busy times such as Sunday mornings (and Fridays)
* Look into getting and loading the Moovit app, or purchase, have and use a non-refundable “RavKav” card: load and insert your card into the slot (not at all intuitive, logical nor easy) and then type and choose what you want to do- where you want to go, and agree to the purchase (deduction from the balance on the card). You must tap in and also tap out, and you need to have enough value on the card to get to your designated destination
*. If you are in one of those aforementioned three stations in Tel Aviv, sit in the lobby above the train tracks until the time comes for your train and I then descend to get on the train.Written April 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christina HPasig, Philippines80 contributionsWe took the Sherut mini van taxi-sharing ride from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv to our hotel Crowne Plaza Jerusalem. Cost was NIS 67 per person, It was okay except that it is not for people in a hurry as the driver never leaves until the van is full. Also, it took us more than two hours to get to our hotel as we were the last to be brought to our destination. We initially tried riding the cheaper and bigger shuttle bus just outside the airport but it was very chaotic, there was a mad scramble for seats & we panicked when we saw our luggage being taken out by other passengers to squeeze their bags in. If budget is not a problem, best to hire a private airport transfer service.Written November 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - anag2203Mexico6 contributionsI simply cannot begin to explain just how amazing your tour was. Definitely by far the best one out of all in our trip. And we had many! You showed real interest in each one of us, what we were looking for, and even though you probably have done this too many times, we felt you genuinely enjoyed it too!! Thank you for your passion and your patience and for opening up to us in the most intimate and personal things too. This experience changed our lives!!Written September 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Lindsey O2 contributionsWe used Froride to shuttle us to Ben Gurion airport from Old Jaffa on Shabbat. We had an esim, and not a local number, so trying to contact potential drivers late Friday night to find a ride at 6 am was stressful. Kobi from Froride was very responsive on WhatsApp (even at midnight!) and found us a driver quickly. The driver, Vladi, arrived early and was very kind and accommodating. He even checked our flight status as he pulled away from our hotel to make sure it was leaving on time. Logistics can be very stressful on Shabbat for a foreigner, but with Froride, everything went smoothly. Also, we paid $69, which was comparable to what a local friend told us to expect.Written August 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
