I love walking up and down the Tayelet (as it's called in Hebrew). It runs right along Tel Aviv's the Mediterranean beach, which is super popular with sunbathers, swimmers, and people just enjoying the nice weather. There are numerous restaurants lining the beach, so you can't walk far without finding another delicious-smelling eatery where you can sit at your leisure and eat while gazing over the gorgeous view. There's music playing from many businesses and personal radios, people play volleyball on one of the many courts, and people will jog or bike along the promenade. Everything is very clean and well-maintained; I think they renovated the promenade about ten years ago, and it shows.

The arts and crafts market at Nahalat Binyamin is simply delightful to peruse, with many inventive and eye-catching things on offer.

This boulevard has some of the finest pieces of Bauhaus architecture. It's been adapted to Israel's climate by making the balconies integral part of the living space. Some of the historical houses are in need of repair, some are being rebuilt in a grand style.

Walking in the am by the water -north. Towards sunsetting time walk south.... consider the city alleys are much higher than the port and beach, so start in the city then walk down to the waterline...

This lively street is jam-packed with restaurants, shops, and other cute businesses that are almost always full. Window-shopping on this street is a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Fun thing to see as you are winding through the Old city of Jaffa and the port area. There is a placque on the wall nearby telling the history of it.

Located at the beginning of Shabazi Street in the old Neve Tzedek neighborhood and near the Tel Aviv Beach, is the renovated 1892 Old Train Station which connected Jaffa to Jerusalem. Nicely renovated, the station and surrounding buildings now features restaurants, art galleries and boutiques.

Interesting street heading down to the beach, with an atmosphere a bit like Bastille in Paris. Cool boutique shops and eateries etc. Very pleasant cafe at number 17.

This mosaic fountain was shown to us as part of a guided tour run for free on a Thursday morning by the nearby Nahum Gutman museum. It shows the history of Jaffa from ancient times until the creation of Tel Aviv. It is very beautiful but it needs some explanation.

The wishing bridge is a little touristy but what the heck. We did it. The whole area around Pisgah and Abrasha Parks are really outstanding. The view of Jaffa/Tel Aviv from the top shouldn't be missed.

These rocks are well - just rocks and not very impressive ones at that as you can barely see them above the waves!

If your hotel is close by and you want to go for a walk on Tayelet Promenade, you might just as well have a look at the Opera Tower, but do not expect too much.
