Samuel, our tour guide, took the three of us on a one-of-a-kind Jeep trip through the Judean desert, stopping for amazing pictures and explaining to us the historical background and regional significance of the various sights. Samuel was professional in every way, friendly and very knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. This was one of several trips I had already taken with Ben Harim Tours and it certainly was another outstanding experience. - Sherpa230988558681 contributionI can't say enough great things about Simon but first I want to share a little of my story. I just visited Israel for the first time, traveling solo, this July. I was was very nervous traveling alone and wasn't sure which tour guide work with. My trip was sort of last minute when I was accepted to the JNF Educator's mission. When I reached out on social media for suggestions, I came across Simon. I am so glad I did. Simon took me to Caesarea for what was supposed to be a half day tour. Simon went above and beyond. He not only educated me about Caesarea but provided me with so much valuable information about other sites including places I would be traveling to on my own without him. A week after we met, I was in the old city in Jerusalem, I had his voice in my head remembering things he told me to look out for there. He was more than just a guide for the one day we spent together, he had a real impact on my overall Israel experience. While I didn't have time to see everything I would like to in Israel, I know when I return, I will be reaching out to Simon for future guided tours. In terms of the logistics of my tour, Simon picked me up in his very comfortable, air conditioned vehicle, and was kind enough to drop me off at a second location. And to top it all off, after visiting Caesarea on a very hot day, Simon bought me the best ice cream I had on my trip. Simon speaks very articulately and is easy to understand. I can't thank him enough and please reach out to him if you are in need of a tour guide. - עאמר פ1 contributionWe were group of 6 , loved the mixture of the sightseeing and the off-road . Some of the sights are really monumental like Jerusalem and Masada while on the other side of the spectrum is the Holman highs wild Wild West :-)
Loved the local street good and mostly the gokedem guide for the oversight and linking history and present of this magical land. So not knowing where to begin in hunting for a reasonable, honest, flexible, thorough guide, I started on the internet. I saw Charlie the Traveler’s website and after doing some research, I may not have personally known anyone who has used Charlie the Traveler, but the reviews were exactly what I was looking for. I was able to tweak their standard itinerary, staying longer at some places, adding treks, and booking my own lodging. Upon arriving to the airport in Jordan, I was greeted by a local representative of Charlie the Traveler, ‘Sami’. I cannot praise Sami enough and Charlie for finding a guide who legitimately cared about the traveler’s experience. Sami made sure I was familiar with my itinerary Charlie’s company had prepared for me, even after all my adjustments. I never felt uncomfortable, afraid for my safety or like I was being ‘played’. Pick up and drop off times were always precise and reliable. I appreciate the care and reliability of Charlie the Traveler and his representatives. My time in Jordan was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I have Sami and his networking skills to thank for that. I will definitely use Charlie the Traveler for future adventures. - patsy mMelbourne, Australia48 contributionsExcellent Tour. Our guide and bus driver were great. Abrahams gave us full details of what to expect at the Allenby Boarder. Our guide was informative and answered many of our questions about Jordan in general. It was a young group (excluding ourselves) and we loved it. We had a full day in Petra from 8:00-18:30 with an option to do Petra by night, which some of the group did. I would highly recommend this tour. It worked well to travel into Jordan with Yom Kippur happening in Israel. - Paul KNew York12 contributionsKobi at GoKedem is a total rock star! We wanted something more that your typical bus tour to Masada and he really delivered. He really knows the landscape and history, and tells amazing stories that captured the imagination of my son Leo, 15.
He led us on a 2 hour hike to the El Al spring that was pure magic. And at Ein Gedi oasis, he know the route to the last waterfall, with herds of ibex grazing near-by. My son - normally an eye-rolling teenager -- was really moved.
Afterwards, we went for lunch at a local beduin restaurant that was delicious and a cool experience in itself, as the hostess was very funny, knew him so stopped by to talk.
The whole trip was a unique, memorable experience. We did the Dead City & Masada, Israel Museum and the Old City. All were great experiences. Ori was always on time and asked questions about our preferences to help guide our tours. I'm confident we had experiences that we wouldn't have otherwise done without him. Ori was always willing to assist and be available when we weren't certain of plans. He

- Lisa W17 contributionsWe originally booked a tour of Masada and The Dead Sea and soon after booking Michael phoned me to chat through our adventure. The day before the trip he contacted me again to advise me that the temperature was predicted to be 43 degrees (but will feel much hotter) and that it would be a good idea to change our plans as walking around Masada would be far too difficult in the heat. He gave us several options and we decided to do this trip instead. We visited a nature reserve where we walked through a cool stream, my boy rode a camel in the desert, we visited a baptismal site and bathed in the Jordanian river within spitting distance of Jordan and we had an extreme 4wd adventure of the Judean desert which was absolutely stunning. We had a homemade picnic lunch in a gorgeous canyon (with the best lemonade and pitta fillings in the world) and finished off relaxing in the Dead Sea on a private beach. Michael was so knowledgeable about the history and politics of this beautiful country and we were lucky enough to see some jackals. He made us feel like we were touring with family and we felt safe and looked after. He was great with the kids and involved them in everything. I was very surprised by the wonderful experience we all had with Aviv. I learned interesting history and facts. I saw things I never saw before. It felt all new, exciting, fun and the best way to spend a day! I recommend this tour and guide highly. - Tom O17 contributionsWe had a great time with Dan Porges as our tour guide and Ali driving us around the Dead Sea! Ali made a great narrator while making sure we all felt safe traversing the desert. The highlight of the trip was a lovely picnic with Ali out the back of the 4WD, overlooking the stunning gorge and monastery. - brd19858 contributionsWe had one day in Jerusalem and Sharif Abdul made every minute count. He met us at the Jordanian border and brought us straight to the Dead Sea. He knew all the tricks to make the visit go smoothly and we had a great time there. Then it was off to the hotel for a quick rest and then onto the tour. We managed to see all the main points of the city and it was fascinating form start to finish, thanks mainly to our amazing guide.
