Beautiful gardens in the heart of Haifa. It is recommended to book a guided tour of the gardens' site. A tour takes place in several languages. Alone, without a guide it is forbidden to walk around most of the areas of the gardens. The tour takes about 45 minutes, starts from the top and descends down according to the levels of the garden. Very romantic for couples. Also suitable for a trip with children, but children are not really small because it is required to keep quiet on site.

It's a nice area with lots of restaurants and places to stay. It is at the bottom of the Bahai Gardens.

We went there for a dinosaur exhibit and got a lot more than we thought. The exhibition itself was great (better than other similar exhibits we visited), but the other experiences were a great surprise. Lot of engaging things to do and see.

Small and compact but with so much detail and beautiful colours and of course Elijah’s second cave. The friendly friar was very proud of his information leaflet he’d written and rightly so. At just $1 definitely get one and read and tour, you’ll learn so much more and see things you might miss. We were able to do our own tour and it was just fascinating.

There’s several interesting points outside too both in the grounds and across the road.

The lighthouse is under scaffolding and the other Elijah’s cave (now a significant synagogue) is under renovation.

Great beach! Gigantic amounts of sand, free parking, showers, toiletts, lifeguards, excellent water temperature(early october), big waves keep coming, and theres enough of those artificial shade makers for everyone to find a free place under.

    MY EXPERIENCE
I hiked in “Little Switzerland” with a large group of Israeli religious high school girls: it was not the quiet pleasant experience of my hopes (to say the least). The scenery was nice, though (see my few photos).

Ok..so ignore the thought in your head that says “the views are nice here so how much better can they be at the Louis promenade” because the views ARE better here and you don’t want to miss it. The reaction is “wow”…. Just watch people as they come up to it! So, yes, plan to go…we went at sunset and stayed and watched the twinkling lights come on over the water. Romantic.

This was a really good museum, they had some information about the history and past operations of the Israeli navy. Outside they had many different things to book at including small speed boats, the main things were a big submarine that you could walk through and a much larger navy boat you could also walk on.

The concept of multiple religions and nationalities living side by side just fascinated me. I walked through on Saturday and it rather calm and peaceful. Also visited the local bakery there and ate some fresh pitas (open on Saturday morning).

Our cruise ship docked here over night so got to see Haifa on the second day. We walked from the port to town and then up the hill to the shrine and gardens then walked back via the shops and restaurants. The port is well organised for cruise ship immigration, passport and immigration cards checked several times before you get through.

Even though we live in Israel it has been a long time since we visited Ein Hod. So on the way back from Haifa to our home in Rehovot we stopped by to see the artist village. Unfortunately we came at 3:30 and the gallaries were closed.
Advice to visitors: the galaries are open from 10 am to about 3 pm on week days. But the visit was not a waste. It was a pleasure to spend an hour or two wandering through the village looking at the sculpure and the village.

I discovered this by mistake and what a great mistake. The park is filled with different sculptures. Very nice. Plenty of parking which is rare in Haifa, you can also get some old photos of the city below
