I met my photographer Ms Bashirova and had an hour of truly amazing motorbike photo shooting in Istanbul. The edited photos look fantastic, she was very talented on clicking, helping me pose nicely and gifted me a very professional video for surprise. I highly recommend her, best photographer ever. Thank you very much
Great Bazaar, I liked this bazaar more than the grand bazaar,, but as every where in Turkey you have to bargain. the ALLADIN sweets were great ,, like the second store,, turkish sweets made with honey,, I also find that if you walk straight you can reach the grand bazaar, on that way you can find lots of wholesaler for scarf.. so you can buy in bulk ,, cheaper..
WOW! What an incredible experience! Gokay has clearly taken the time to get to know the best and kindest vendors at the Grand Bazaar and it made for such a smooth time for my husband and I on this tour. We had so much seeing the shops, learning the history and getting help with haggling! Definitely recommend for anyone who is looking to shop at the bazaar or who might be overwhelmed by the bazaar in general.
Seyhan is the perfect host, he was completely flexible with our shopping needs and always knew the right places to go. My mum was travelling with a foldable wheelchair that he helped pack in his car each time. He planned out routes and even found accessible toilets and restaurants for us! Every request was smoothly granted and with a smile. He answered all of our curious touristy questions and we felt safe at all times with him. It was like traveling with a family member. Thank you once again Seyhan! You made the trip memorable and easy for us.
we got there together with our 8y kid. the 2 hours passed very fast :) all enjoyed it very much the hosts were extremely kind and supportive despite the mess we made :P today we reached back home and we lighted up the candles. great souvenir and experience! you can also chose the electric lamp but that is more bulky, so you need to mind the transportation...
Hasan is an amazing guide and truly someone you want to be with guiding you through the chaotic city of Istanbul! He is so very knowledgeable - and is quite highly educated and world travelled as well! He takes care of everything - fluent English of course - feels like you are just floating through the places he takes you. Great guy! I highly recommend him for tours, shopping, knows great restaurants! You won’t regret connecting with him!! Bon voyage!
We are recently back from a two weeks Turkey trip: Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus and Pamukkale. Furkan from Private Istanbul Walking Tours made all the bookings. Communication with him was effortless before, after and during the trip. His knowledge, enthusiasm, kindness and local contacts makes things easy and smooth. This trip was our best travel experience with outstanding tour guides, accommodations and air and ground transportations. A special thanks to our guide Derya whom we spent three full days and be nights in Istanbul. Derya not only shared her wisdom about the city, culture and culinary but also she helped us to shop and negotiate in the Grand Bazaar where we purchased rugs for our house, a tailor made caftan, towels for my grandchildren, calligraphy for my husband’s office and little souvenirs for our friends and family. We ended our fantastic grand trip of Turkey in one of the oldest hammams of Turkey which was a treat. We will for sure recommend Furkan, Derya and Private Istanbul Walking Tours to all our friends and family.
At the end of a tourist tour that included included mosques and Top Kapi, we were hurled to Punto Leather & Fur store. There, we were razzled and dazzled by an obviously prearranged fashion show displaying a variety of leather jackets for men and women. It was explained to us that they supply goods to famous luxury brands. Punto explained that they use a laser process to cut thin layers of leather from real hide. When concern was expressed about the durability of this thin leather, they claimed that there is a lifetime guarantee provided, we were not wise enough to ask for a written guarantee. A couple of years later, back in our country, this jacket was ripped , as seen in the photo. The rip was due to a flaw in the fabric and was not due to over use or age. We actually emailed Punto's customer service describing the issue which was returned as "undeliverable". Since we were oceans away, we had to wait until our return to Istanbul. Upon our visit to the same shop, they denied that their warranty has any validity and claimed that they could not find a similar colour leather. They only offered to sell us a jacket at what they claimed to be their "cost price". It was not as impressive as the jacket originally purchased. So we declined. This shop caters to tourists who would possibly not be back to make any claim against their alleged warranty. They claimed that had we contacted them earlier they would have arranged to receive, repair and return the jacket to us. As stated above we could not make email contact from the purchase documentation we had. We would never buy from this shop again and recommend the same to others.
