If you want to have a friendly date and have breakfast or a snack in a colorful environment full of fluffy cats, I recommend this place. It is not suitable for formal dates, but it is a pleasant and beautiful place

My review was long overdue, my family and I visited this place in August 2021 and we were mesmerized by the display of Mr. Salman Abi's courtesy and friendliness. Thank you for the wonderful experience. We hope to visit Vezirhan again.

Seven stories, 220 shops filled to overflowing with antiques. Shopping heaven? Not really because it's mostly large scale - furniture, chandeliers, carpets, huge ceramics - but there are some "smalls" that can be fitted into your luggage. However the experience of the place itself repays tracking it down. It's near the Aksaray tram stop or Metro and locals will direct you to it if you ask for the "ANTICA" or the Horhor Bit Pazari. Free entry.
It's not all 18th/19th century, there's some great mid 20th century furniture - Eames chairs, cool Scandi 1960's furniture, light fittings and more. Your only problem is how to get it home!

I first stopped by Sofa Art & Antiques in 2004. Every visit finds something intriguing, and just as enjoyable is the opportunity to chat with owner Kasif Gundogdu about Turkey and the region's rich, detailed history as well as about contemporary artists. I could spend hours at Sofa. The shop is just outside the Grand Bazaar, but - nothing - at Sofa Art & Antiques is cheap tourist product. Bring your checkbook/credit card, but know what you are getting is quality, a covnersation peice, or something that speaks to you - and every time you experience it post purchase, you'll remember the story Kasif shared about its provenance.

Shout out to the owner, Hasan! We stumbled across this shop early into our Istanbul visit, and Hasan’s knowledgeable, calm, and informative expertise led us to return several days later to buy a kilim from his shop. He understood our price and size range, and had many options for us to choose from. He is an expert in quality, style, history, and location of every item that he sells you, no matter what you are willing to spend. If you are serious about buying textiles in Istanbul, we recommend this place.

It is one of the oldest shops in Eminönü, where I bought my first analogue camera in 2012, where I could easily find any film I wanted and had it developed perfectly.

The prices were fair and the owner was kind. There was no pushing for selling. We bought two Anatolian kilims and one Afghan rug. Definitely recommended.

I was simply not expecting how lovely this shop turned out to be. If you live in the area or if you are staying at the Hammamhane nearby, ladies you must not miss this store- it is delightful and I left with two pairs of chic vintage shoes-a rarity for me but this place has true GEMS. Over the moon. Go!
