Gangaramaya buddhist temple is a very beautiful temple in Colombo. There is also a beri lake temple very close by, which is between the lake. The temple also has a small hindu temple within the premises. Overall, it is a beautiful temple, and a must visit if you are visiting Colombo.

We were here on an early Saturday morning. It was quite busy but in a good way. People were walking, exercising and sunbathing as well. Our hotel, Berjaya was right beside the beach and we had an over-bridge to reach the beach from our hotel (there was a train track under the bridge). There were a few restaurants that were literally on the beach itself.

It's a fairly long beach. There were some watersports activities happening. I remember jet skiing. Although, we didn't do any.

We explored the area on foot and were impressed. We especially liked the variety of seafood being sold by street vendors, although we didn't try the food ourselves. Despite the weather, everything was clean and hygienic, and the stunning view made the experience truly worthwhile.

Nice shops, bars and restaurants are there. But I felt that all are formal rather than live and buzzing happy go lucky atmosphere is missing.

Located near the Lotus Tower, we visited this Hindu Temple next. Like any Hidu temples, we were asked to take off our shoes as soon as we entered the compound. I thought we would only take off our shoes when we enter inside the temples.

We hurriedly took some pictures here and left. The ground is rough and hot for us to take off our shoes outside of the temples.

From where I got off my cab, I climbed a flight of stairs to come to the lower terrace. I climbed another short series of steps to come to the upper terrace with the main temple right in front of me, a stupa on my right and a Bodhi tree on my left.

I found the main temple of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara to be impressive. The wall paintings illustrate the Jataka tales, stimulating compassion. Stepping out, I walked to the stupa and further to a guardian statue.

Then I turned back and walked to the Bodhi Tree. I watched devotees offer lotus flowers and bowls of what I thought was water to the Bo Tree. The Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara is quite large, and I would have loved to see more of it had it not been for the rain.

This was the only place where, when I donated, a prayer was said for my family & my wellbeing.

After visiting the Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple, we visited this attraction. There is a statue here infront of an old structure with beautiful mouldings. Some locals were noted chilling out here. Another big white building is in the vicinity, perhaps the Assembly Hall. Took several photos here and enjoyed our visit.

Accross from the above structures is a wide open field where locals are practising their games.

Super spot for shopping in Colombo. Loved the Scooe cinema on the 3rd floor and PlayTrix sports bar is another place you must visit if you visit Colombo city center. They’ve got their own residence as well. One of the best shopping malls in Colombo.

Having visited several religous sites during the TukTuk Tour and alreay feeling hot and tired,
I was turned off when sevral staff approached us as we got off our tuktuk. They insisted that we take off our shoes as we walked towards the temples. The ground was hot and I did not feel like walking barefoot all the way to the entrance of the temples and their interiors.

I briefly took pictures of the exteriors of the temples, the gate, etc. and left in a hurry. Perhaps, I’ll visit it again in the early morning and set my mind about walking barefoot. May be NOT.

Marino world is the best place to be happy and they provide good customer service. The staff here are very good and help a lot even for those who don't know how to play games. I highly recommend here for those who like to have fun.😊

Less organised a fantastic driver for me who drove very well (perhaps a tiny bit too fast) and was very nice with excellent English.

This is the place where the president of Sri Lanka address on the Independence day. It is open on all days. The is also a museum which is currently closed due to covid. The entrance fee is free for all but I think there is a fee to enter the museum.

This was the very first attraction that we visited during our tuktuk tour of Colombo. The staff were friendly and were busy cleaning the buildings when we arrived. Shoes have to be removed, baskets are provided for their storage. Entrance fee is 400 LHR.

There are many statues of Buddha on display at this attraction. Some are with colorful, bright yellow and orange color schemes.

I visited there with few friends, overall good experience, water slides were good, especially the sling shot
    There were some problems too.
Some good water slides were not functioning due to lack of staff, ( not broken, since I have used it same day morning )
Most of the water slides are broken
Most of relaxing chairs are broken, the first chair I get on was broken, I have explained that to the staff but they refused to belive that saying that machine says its working, that chair left me a backache since its broken, archad ares staff need more training, they should know in and out of every machine there but they don't, i think they have never played any of those games or have experienced what they sell, I suggest a staff workshop they can too enjoy and learn about there product which will improve the service quality. HR manager can improve the service I guess.
But staff was frendy, not badmouthing, they just need proper technical training.
Food are wayyyyy overpriced, but its the normal for parks here.
Don't just buy dry area tickets since there not much to do, arcade is not that good.
Don't buy full premium packaged, most of the slides and machines are not working,
Just buy normal water package and buy anything not included separately.
When you use slingshot slide ( which need 2 people ) be carefully of the person you go with, if that person is not decipinarry enough, you can get hurt. ( but it's the best slide ) and when you comes down keep your legs inside rubber tube, that is not instructed but don't trust the person you go with anyway.
Overall good experience, hope it gets better in future.
