Nice National park with proper cafe, lunch serve with beef, French fries and quality rice. Horse riding is a must and the guide will hold you tight and riding walking of about 45minutes round the park with good views and you will to a monastery of 108 steps, another awesome scenery from the top.

The Chinggis Khan Statue Complex is well worth a day trip from Ulaanbaatar. This is the biggest equestrian statue in the world. From a distance it is impressive, I recommend going inside, walk to the top of the statue, and visit the museum. I learned a lot here.

Kind of off roads trip. It was raining in mid June and the soils were slippery. Main focus is the to see the land of the wild horse. There are two main trails. Shorter trail about 36km. Longer trail 80km long. Animals such as Przewalski’s horse, marmot, deer and Ancient tombs and big rocks stone.

When we were there, there were lots of young boys who were competing in boxing. There were lots of people in traditionell costumes who were celebrating something. In addition there were some young people playing both volleyball and football. So it is absolutely a very popular meeting place for the locals. I found the square very impressive. I was also positively surprised that there was a public and free restroom in one of the corners of the square.

I spent 45 minutes here and thought that it was pretty good. English signage was good enough. I would like to have seen more details regarding the Chinggis Khan era but they did a nice job regarding the 20th century and the emergence of democracy. It’s conveniently located near several other tourist sights.

It is very similar to other monestaries we have visited in other countries, and one has to buy tickets to enter the monestary if you are not a buddhist. The buddha statue is really nice.

I find it fascinating to watch the worshipers in the temple. I wished I had taken my chair with me while traveling. I like this place.

I was excited to see some of the historical structures in Ulaanbaatar. Visiting the Bigd Khaan Palace was part of a tour I did and it was a great stop. The Winter Palace was not touristy, we practically had the site to ourselves. The buildings look ancient, but are newer then I expected. The western style home was interesting as well. The museum inside was well worth spending some time in. Overall, this is a must visit place.

It is a monument at the top of the hill so don't get yourself too worked up with expectations. The Soviet style mural is good and the view across UB is very good. A tip: You can avoid most of the steps up to it by entering the nearby shopping centre and taking a lift to the top which has a walk-way across to it.

The complex consists in six temples originally occupied by the brother of the ruler the Eighth Bogd Jetsun Dampa Khan, Choijin Lama Luvsankhaidav, who was the state oracle.
The complex looks like an ancient temple but it was built in 1908.
Unfortunately I can’t go inside, unbelievably the ticket office don’t accepted credit cards

As going to the top of sand dunes, hundreds of dunes can be seen.
It flows for more than 10 kilometers to the west and is called the Hongor river.
On a windless and sunny day, the sand of Khongor is really beautiful. When traveling through the sand dunes, start at the nearest hill, and it is easiest to follow the crest of the hill from one hill to the other. Because of the loose sand, it is impossible to climb steeply, and the legs get tired easily

Coming from the Tropics, be prepared for a very brutal cold weather during winter, from 30c to
    - 26c is not a joke, although the scenery will take your breath away. Since flight from UB to Murun was only operational in March, I took a 700km bus ride to get a kick out of it... what more to say but to marvel the winteric scenery.. My destination is a 150 km from the south shore at Khatgal to the North Khuvsgul Tourist camp across the lake at Khankh. Awesome sight of the frozen lake a short hike on the ridge . The only restaurant is 3 or 4 km away at a Soum center nearby..and the road to the Russian border.. Be prepared to experience a different dimension of Winter Lake Khuvsgul.
