The young girl, Arian, was great, very easy to deal with, speaks good English, she is very friendly and polite. - Rebelstar107 contributionsWe booked with Daily Travel Vietnam having emailed them beforehand from the Uk, and paid locally at their office in HCM by credit card (£60 each).
Generally good value for a 2 day trip with all meals and a hotel stay.
Day 1 is generally recommended with Unicorn Island the highlight, particularly the boat trip through the mangrove swamps. The kids also enjoyed feeding meat to the crocs at the local village centre.
We would suggest sticking to a 1 day trip as the 3*hotel in Can Tho was grotty, and the Cai Rang floating market very underwhelming on day 2 with apparently a huge drop off in boats since covid. Nothing like the Thailand floating markets you envisage from the touristy photos.
Our second day lunch meal was a disaster as half our party were violently ill the next day due to eating the seafood salad and seafood pancakes. The rest of us who had stuck to the crispy spring rolls and boil it yourself fish broth were ok. So exercise extreme caution on the trips with any seafood which looks like it may have been hanging around for a while.
The tour guide Qang was good, although the fact 3/4 of the people on the tour were local Vietnamese meant you had to listen to lengthy explanations in both Vietnamese and English. And we found the locals not very considerate with the seats on the bus - when they reclined their seats (at every opportunity) we had only a tiny amount of leg room for western sized legs! We have used their private car and thought that the service was rather good to recommend to everyone.
