What travelers are saying
- Phillip HCairns, Australia23 contributionsNothing fast about this trip, I reckon 1 HP outboard against a running tide would go faster. The boat was packed and the air-conditioning unless you were seated under a went was useless. You can't even open a window to breathe fresh air. A novel way to travel but if I had to travel to Ho Chi again I would do it by car. Staff were good and refreshments were available but I won't be making a second trip.Written March 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Abovetheclouds2,488 contributionsPlease just be careful. Most taxi drivers with this company are generally good. I prefer to use them than other companies. They are also easier to locate and in abundance around the city. Taxi drivers don't really speak English so have the address of your location in Vietnamese or type it in their gps so they call follow the route on their phone. You can easily hail one in the street or go to a shopping mall or hotel where some normally park and wait for guests. Always make sure it is a proper taxi. I got in a fake one the other day and got robbed! There are some that may rip you off. What I suggest is look up on your phone roughly how far the destination is that you want to go to and then you can see if they are taking you on a long route and over charging. Don't take your wallet out or phone. Keep your bag closed. Keep enough small notes in your hand or pocket. If you need a taxi, no matter how much you are in a hurry or desperate then make sure it is a proper Vinasun one, the taxi meter is working and follow my notes above on valuables and getting the approximate distance or driving time to your location.Written January 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ALTippetSan Francisco, CA6,142 contributionsThis is a great option if your hotel is along the 152 route. We have taken Grab and the 109 bus and it compares favorably with a caveat.
The 109 bus used to be a lot more comfortable with free wifi but since Covid, the 109 bus is no longer as nice. While the 109 bus makes fewer stops, it may not make much difference in heavy traffic. Plus most people take the bus all the way so while there are more stops, no one on our bus actually got on or off before our stop. So timing wise it was not too bad. Plus the 152 runs more frequently than the 109 so it’s more likely you will see a 152 roll up at the airport than a 109 bus.
Compared to a Grab or Taxi, the 152 is convenient because you don’t have to try to find a particular Car.. much easier to find and take right outside the terminal. The main drawback to the 152 is if you have luggage. You will have to walk to your hotel from the bus stop with your luggage and motorbikes often ride on the sidewalks so can be stressful few blocks walk dodging motorbikes or crossing the street if you just landed in Vietnam for the first time. So it is not advised to take the bus if you have rolling luggage if you have to cross the steer - especially at night.
But all in all, the best 20 cents value in Vietnam!!Written December 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I think we were supposed to be in vip one with bigger spaces but was in one with 3 rows, about less then 2 ft down aisles. I am 5'4 and 120, barely enough room for me. It did have seat the reclined back, but no arm rests. Drivers were rude, we were only tourist on bus. It left Da Lang at 5pm and at 10:30pm after I had finally fell asleep, driver stopped bus and made everyone get off. I tried to just stay on bus but he said no. He was very rude. It was raining and cool, and had to wait under open shelter for 30 minutes while bus drivers talked and smoked
I dont recommend this bus line, maybe others are better....Written November 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. His enthusiasm and love for his work really made the tour special. He brought so much energy and joy to the entire day, making every stop feel engaging and fun.
We got a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s history at the Cu Chi Tunnels, where Tre shared interesting stories and facts. The highlight of the tour was the chance to try local foods along the way. From fresh fruit to traditional dishes, everything was delicious and gave us a real taste of Vietnamese culture.
The Mekong Delta was equally beautiful, and we enjoyed a boat ride through the peaceful waterways. The day was perfectly balanced between history, nature, and local experiences. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Vietnam in a fun and informative way!Written January 25, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. On way home back to hcmc from Vung tau we experienced a severe downpour so trip back to hcmc took 2 extra hours not the drivers fault………HOWEVER he seemed to catch every red light in a very obvious way, like stopping at green lights with 5 seconds to go, when there was ample time to get across lights. One wonders whether the driver is stretching their hours out? Harsh I know but it was very obvious. The worst thing was the driver rolled window down and threw his plastic bottle out the window. We saw this 19 years ago on a boat trip somewhere in Vietnam, where empty glass beer bottles were thrown overboard. The company needs to provide more education to staff about not littering and perhaps the effects of global warming and what goes into landfillWritten June 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - K CUSA52 contributionsIf you are a solo traveler, the airport bus 109 is an inexpensive way from airport to the city center. The bus stop is right outside the international arrival. It has a storage bin to store your large luggage and is air-conditioned. It stops at all major spots in the city center district (district 1) so it should be fairly easy to walk to your hotel after getting off the bus.Written November 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Liz W19 contributionsI would first like to say if you have the opportunity to travel on the Mekong Princess, do not hesitate. Sign up ASAP.!! My husband and I have had the most incredible week which exceeded all our expectations.
The ship itself is lovely and immaculate
The staff is wonderful attentive & Kind. You will love themđź©·
Eric our Hospitality director was knowledgeable, safety conscious & went above & beyond. We happened to mention that we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary Our room was decorated with hearts, swan’s carved out of towels, pink petals, and candy💕 So fun & thoughtful.
Our Cambodian and Vietnamese guides gave us an insiders view. Literally, we were invited into homes. Such a special experience.
All meals were served in the lovely dining room. I do not eat red meat, which was no problem. There was plenty of fresh & cooked vegetables, homemade soups, , fish, and decadent desserts. And we cannot forget the delicious Vietnamese coffee,
And the Again the attention to detail !!
Because the Mekong Princess is small we were able to meander on waterways other ships were not allow to go.

We arranged last minute with Thomas and a driver was provided at 9 am the next morning.
The driver was charming but flustered. Turns out his wife had just gone into labour. He drove us a few miles to meet a replacement. Zero adverse impact to us, all in all a great service and glad we took the chance. Great standard of driving and a nice car.Written December 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David LElstree, UK35 contributionsWe visited five places in Vietnam. Katie arranged all of our transfers (to and from airports, between resorts). Cars were very clean and comfortable, drivers were good (you’ll need to use Google Translate if you don’t speak Vietnamese), and they were always very prompt. Katie communicated really well throughout. The rates were lower than the transfers offered by the hotels. Highly recommended!Written December 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Belgo96Brisbane, Australia3,416 contributionsArriving at Ho Chi Minh City airport in rush hour can be a little overwhelming so it was a relief to be met by a driver from Saigon Transporter and handed a bottle of chilled water. Drive to central Ho Chi Minh City was smooth and uneventful and invoice was sent direct to my email - I recommend this excellent company. Very easy to pre-book the transfer online from Australia via their live chat page (available in English). You can book it and pay for it on arrival. I booked mine the night before I arrived and they were safely there waiting for me. A taxi will cost you between $7-$10 USD - this will cost $15 so a bit more than a taxi but if you want someone waiting for you and don't want to try to deal with the taxis then this is a reliable and comfortable service.Written July 25, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
