Saigon riverfront looks pretty ordinary and not that inviting during the day.
However, it totally changes at night with all the high rises along it illuminated.
You can take a water taxi or river cruise to enjoy the views from the river.
The first is cheaper, but transporting you only from one point to another.
We opted for the river cruise going upstream and downstream for around 45 min in total. Views of downtown are really impressive, while the other side looks undeveloped.

I biked to this spot in a very nice day. The renting was smooth. This spot had a view looking to Han River. Quite amazing. Recommend for a stroll or bike.

The Saigon River rises near Phum Daugn in south east Cambodia and flows 230 km to the South China Sea, passing through Ho Chi Minh City as it does so.

The river is important to HCMC because it forms part of its water supply, and is also the home of Saigon Port, with a total cargo volume of nearly 40 million metric tons a year.

There are Saigon River boat tours, but you do not have to pay money to enjoy this river. Take a leisurely stroll along the broad boulevard pavement of Ton Duc Thang Avenue on the eastern side of HCMC and you can enjoy the river and the landmark buildings that dot the other side of the road, such as the impressive Majestic Hotel, a legacy of the French colonial era.

Since 2011 there has been a bridge under the river, called the Thiem Tunnel, which is the longest cross-river tunnel in South East Asia.

Around twenty kilometres from downtown of Saigon, getting there on Hanoi highway in 40 minutes, bus, car motorcycle and bicycle 🚴. You will get there from the back of lake not from the main road around. From main road all is fenced. You will find the small forest road. It is great to go around with mountain bike, walk, run. Rocky banks are great for jumping into lake. You need to find the place where you can easily climb up and jump again. It is wide few hundred meters for good swimmers 🏊‍♀️
