- Ellen28New York City, NY1,159 contributionsIf you’re only going to do one thing in the city, this is it. A hard couple of hours and you will likely shed a couple years, but it’s an important documentation from the Vietnamese perspective.Written October 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you want to learn about Vietnam’s history this museum is a very good starting point.
Pay special attention to the Champa and Buddhist statues.Written June 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The museum hosts an impressive collection of Vietnamese art, much of it by women, and there is true originality in many of the pieces.
The French style architecture of the building is adding to the charm - walking around it on a rainy afternoon had a certain surreal feeling of past times to it. I recommend starting from the top floor and walking downstairs. It’s a 2-3h visit, which you can combine with a walk down the Antique street (although the galleries near the Opera House are much more interesting); and, indeed, an evening at the Opera House.Written August 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The gallery director, Châu, was very knowledgeable and helpful in providing me additional insight into the artist’s work. Would recommend!Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WCOBPaekakariki, New Zealand647 contributionsThe museum housed in neoclassical building offers a good history of HCM through old city maps and displays. It was pretty quiet when I visited which was nice. Outside in the gardens are military hardware used during the war.Written September 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Royce DanielsMiami, FL2 contributionsThe gallery is beautifully laid out with a clean, modern aesthetic that makes it easy to enjoy the artwork. They also have fantastic customer service. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. They offered to arrange international shipping for a piece I loved, and the care they put into the packaging made me feel confident it would arrive safely. 10/10 would come back in the future.Written September 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lilian19904 contributionsThe only shop in HCM you will need to visit to buy artwork. Price was reasonable and a great selection.
Also the owner Minh was not pushy and always had a smile on his face. I came here to get a portrait of our dog made but ended buying Ming’s other art piece. Took all my will to not buy more.
Thankfully Minh can ship overseas so will take that into consideration when I need artwork in my new home. Thanks Minh :)Written June 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - psp747Fremont, CA65 contributionsThe outstanding Women’s Museum in Hanoi left a lasting impression on me. So I had high expectations for this museum in Ho Chi Minh City, but I was quite underwhelmed with this one.
Part of the reason is that it appears to be under renovation, and only part of the first floor is open to the public.
And that probably reflects the ticket price – – free.
If you get a chance to tour the Women’s Museum in Hanoi, don’t pass it up!Written November 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. but if you would like to see the full display in a countryside setting, then ao dai museum is the place to go. it is about 60 min outside of hcmc, or 250,000-300,000 VND by Grab ride. it will be much cheaper to come by bus but it will take 90 min or more for the ride.
proper visit on site will take about 60-90 min.

It was exciting. Numbered chairs, live music, decorative walls, costumes around... I was alone in the hall and could not stop myself pretending as if I am the fashion model!Written August 11, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
