Our hotel looked over the lake and we spent much time walking around here. It's so fun just sitting here and watched things moving around. Roads are closed at weekend and there were some actives at night. All good!

One of the most famous place in Hanoi. It is very scenic with lots of eatery and residences around the lake.

The surrounding is rather peaceful here and great place to get away from the chaotic Old Quarter.

The hike to the temple at the top is quite easy. Good for a quick getaway as the air is refreshing. However nothing much special here so if you want to be properly touristy, maybe this is not your best choice.

Small park with big monument in the center, besides it, there is nothing really interesting.
I found the place accidentally just walking around nearby lake.

Came here on a sunny weekend for an escape from the city, we drove and parked and only paid 5k entry. We brought a picnic lunch with us and enjoyed eating it on a bench surrounded by flowers and butterflies which was lovely.
Steer clear of the end of the park with the market and dreadful loud music blaring and its fine. The lake took about 30mins to leisurely walk around and it was nice and peaceful with a much welcome breeze.
Lastly the park seemed very clean, lots of bins dotted around for rubbish and barely any seen discarded which was a big plus for Hanoi

Arrived early- just after sunrise- and it was already busy with exercise groups, ballroom dancers, people working out on the the outdoor equipment, joggers and walkers. I went there for some quiet, I didn’t get it! Loud speakers pumping out music to exercise to by the different groups. It was a good place to be even if it wasn’t quiet, everyone happy and enjoying themselves.

As a botanical garden, it is a collection of trees, not much information with them. Somewhat disappointing if that is what you were after. A couple of grotty cages fur birds and a peacock need to be removed, very poor quality.

Smaller lake neighbouring with West lake. Surrounded with restaurants, coffee shops. We had a lunch in near by vegan restaurant. We enjoyed relatively low cold unusual for this time temperature around twenty degrees and walked to old quarter along parks and main governmental square. Water is not clean, sometime too much dirt in. Enjoy a lot of place near by

This hotel is a complete con. On arrival there was no one on reception, despite us giving a time of arrival. The family running the hotel were in residence, in front of the TV in the lobby, and the children were riding their bikes around the lobby.
This is allegedly a 4 star hotel but it would not qualify for 1 star. It has none of the facilities listed on Tripadvisor, Agoda or Booking.com. The staff have no idea how to run a hotel. The rooms were dirty, lamps and taps were broken and the rooms were not serviced, despite us being the only guests. We were woken up at 7.15 to be given coffee sachets as they hadn't put them in the room.
They were unable to provide any breakfast apart from instant noodles, instant coffee and fried eggs. They told us they had no tea or Vietnamese coffee, no fruit and no bread. Drilling started on the roof at 8.30am and rubble was transported in the lift, so that was why it was filthy.
We paid the highest rate for this hotel and it was appalling. We left after 1 day. Additionally, they e mailed us a week before to ask for a cash payment, for the total amount, into a random bank account. They then wanted us to pay in cash on arrival, despite it being 4 star and we expected to pay on Visa. We made them sort out their Visa machine.
Quan Lan is a poor destination, as the beaches are dirty, with lots of rubbish at the back of the beaches. The tourism authorities describe them as pristine, but they are not! Rubbish is piled up all over the island. The local tourism authorities should address this urgently as it is not typical of the rest of Vietnam. Food is very difficult to find in Minh Chau. The best thing about this hotel was the toilet paper and the electric taxi to the port, to escape!
Having travelled extensively, we can be sympathetic to local conditions and respect that people are just trying to earn a living, but this is simply a ripoff. This hotel should be delisted immediately and I will be writing to Tripadvisor, Agoda and Booking.com. Translate all reviews about this hotel and Quan Lan and believe all the bad ones. It is shocking and shameful, when so many places in Vietnam are amazing. Do not waste your time and money!

We saw this pagoda when we had a little time before going to the airport. It is interesting historically, very pretty setting and a nice peaceful time. We enjoyed the chance to walk around its extensive grounds before getting on an airplane. On the whole, it is a very nice complex.

The park is more popular after competition of artificial grass field supported by Japan.
This place is clean and suitable for family with children. All child enjoys running on grass field and plays some safe outdoor games for free.
The entrance price is just 0.2us per person , extremely low for whole weekend day.
    Cheers

Spent an hour here and did a leisurely lap of the lake. It really was lovely to be somewhere which fell totally local with families enjoying themselves and an impressive number of young and old exercising around the park. Really enjoyed it and felt completely different to the bustle you have only 20 minutes walk north.

I live near this lake and often I do running around the lake almost every morning. Personally I dare to say that Linh dam lake is the most beatifull one in Hanoi.

This park has a great playground for kids. We visited during the middle of the day on a weekday in the winter, so it wasn’t very busy.

The playground is completely covered in Astro turf so your kids won’t get dirty running around.

The playground equipment consists of a climbing web, monkey bars, slides, zipline, and swings. There isn’t a ton of playground equipment so I could see how things could get congested when the park is busy.

There are a few small shops/cafes around but many were closed, of the winter I think.

When we crossed it many times when in Hanoi... It was unfortunately always brown. Big River... No great deal about it... 750 plus miles long. Lots of ships in it.
