Our visit to the Museum of Ethnology was a very educational experience. We enjoyed the colourful and interactive exhibits while learning about the Vietnamese people.

Walked from accommodations to VN Women's Museum - Open 8AM to 5PM 40KVND entry. I found it to be very informative about life in VN from a Women's perspective. Wow - many of them work HARD!! I have a different perspective on many things. The major role they played in the Wars. The family traditions. And an appreciation of what actually is required to plant, harvest and process rice. It even went into detail about the sacrifices they make to sell whatever at the market and on the street to support the children & family. I'm glad I went.

Good museum for the history of Vietnam. Museum is not well organized, so you have to apply some navigational skills to see all the exhibits.

The museum was great. The surrounding area was even better. Loads of open space and almost nothing was closed. Amazing place.

Arrived at Lotte Centre… head into the mall/center… we were wrongly directed by the staff as we asked for direction. Had to ask another guy and he just told us the entrance/ticket counter is at the basement which is where Lotte mart was located. The ticketing counter was outside of Lotte mart tucked in a corner…

No queue no crowd, purchase the ticket and went directly up 65 floors… the view was great and breathtaking. The best part I would say is the skywalk glasses. There were 2 of them, 1 with a heart and 1 with angel wings…

There were a few paid activities that you can do like rent an traditional Korean costume, VR games and a cafe if I’m not wrong…

Overall a great place for pictures and some relaxed chilling to take in the views.

We have travelled to many places in different countrys. and always see at some point how they lived. Mostly around the 18th centurys and many long before that.It is a joy to cast your mind back and think what sort of life they must have had. Simple, but hard working is the most I get from these visits. Like most places we travel, it is imperitive that you have a guide.

An interesting collection of archaeological artefacts alongside some more recent Viet antiquities up until 1945. The museum is, by international standards, dated but notwithstanding that fact, is worth a visit. The garden has some pleasant stele and my wife recommends the toilets.

Across the road, you will find the exhibition highlighting post-1945 history of Vietnam. I found this frustrating as there was little by way of explanation and some dreadful photographs. Given the recent history of the war, I would have expected not only a better insight into the fight for independence but also far better graphics given the heightened media coverage at the time. There is plenty of room for improvement in this regard.

    Consult the website for hours.
Only Communist era covered. Highly propagandistic but modern and well temperature managed.
Not a must-see by any means but very sensible walk through after Hoa Lo / Hanoi Hilton prison.

Located in the grounds of the Vietnam Military History Museum, an impressive looking structure built between 1805 and 1812, and stands about 40 metres high. You can walk up to the base of the tower. Around the base of the structure there are old artillery cannons with plates describing the history of each one. Well worth a look.

Interesting museum and second floor emphasizes Viet Nam's air force efforts in space, etc. I was one of two people visiting, and it's a bit far from the old quarter - unless you're really interested in history, it might not be your cup of tea. Very insightful to American War history folks. Lots of aircraft in display. The "look how many B-52s we shot down" got tiresome after a while, but I enjoyed my visit.

A gallery with beautiful pieces of art and amazing atmosphere. I went here with my family during spontaneous walking around Hoan Kiem lake. Highly recommend!

After visiting many galleries in Hanoi, we stumbled across this gem. The owner, Yen, was the most friendly, kind, and helpful host we had encountered after a long day of art hunting. The gallery had a large variety of art and styles, and Yen was very knowledgeable about each painter and could provide details about their art, and their histories. It was the very beginning of our trip in Vietnam, and we did not want to carry around a large painting. Yen arranged for our paining to be delivered to our last hotel. The painting was packaged perfectly, and Yen provided tracking details to us. Once our painting arrived at the hotel, Yen called to confirm its arrival with the hotel staff and had it put aside for us. When we arrived, it was waiting for us.
Not only was Yen knowledgeable and professional, she was also kind and honest. I had not felt that from other galleries we visited in Hanoi. We will return to this gallery on our next visit to Hanoi. Once our painting is framed and up, I will update with a photo.

Comprises one building where the entrance to the building is flanked by two SAM-2 missiles. These Russian made missiles shot down a number of B52"s during the defense of Hanoi in December 1972. When you stand on the raised entrance to the Museum you look down on the remains of a shot down B52 that has been laid out in a reconstructed form. Also in the grounds is an array of equipment that was used in the defense of Hanoi.

I have to say that I like this art gallery the most ...... Local artists are able to crystallized Vietnamese culture into great pieces of artwork....

Getting one of these art from this gallery will surely bring you fond memories when you are back home.

The staffs are well trained and can recommend good quality artwork with a smile.

It is totally worth a visit even without buying anything.
