This enchanting neighborhood is a sensory overload in the best way. We immersed ourselves in the unique culture, sampling local eats and drinks, and even attempting to cook some (let's just say it was a good laugh!). As night fell, the area transformed into a vibrant nightlife hub – we danced, played games, and made merry with fellow travelers. And when we needed a breather, scenic lakes like Hoan Kiem provided serene escapes. Old Quarter, you have our hearts (and our senses of humor)!

It's autumn, the best season to travel around Hanoi. This place is the oldest university in Vietnam. It was quite big and covered with a lot of trees. The scenery was photogenic with nice weather. During the trip, we learned a lot about the history of Vietnam.

Former Hoa Lo Prison turned museum and nicknamed "Hanoi Hilton" by American POW's.

I recommend this museum to everyone who wants to learn from history so the horrors of the past may not be repeated.

If you're in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a must-visit. It’s situated in a grand, beautifully maintained complex. Unfortunately, I visited on a Monday when it was closed (also closed on Fridays), but I did get to witness the impressive daily morning parade.

The famous train street. Make sure to check the train times coming through that day and you can get here early, grab a drink at one of the many cafes and wait for the spectacle.
The train will pass merely inches in front of you and while some may say unsafe, as long as you sit still it’s a great experience.

An imposing edifice from colonial times, the cathedral stands in stark contrast to the surrounding buildings.

The inside contains several very nice stained glass windows and is immaculately maintained.

Ms Dao has been awesome! She helped me arrange a trip from Da Nang to Hanoi, Vietnam. Even with last min changes due to Yagi Typhoon. She worked with our needs and wants. Arrange all the transportations from pick up to drop off, city tours, cooking classes. She would recommend things to do with our likes and wants in mind. We love the hiking, running from leeches in Ninh Binh to the Vespa back street of Hanoi food tour. She set up accommodation, drivers, tours, pretty much everything we wanted, even last minute tours! Explained our options and we decided what we wanted to do. Price was very reasonable, even cheaper.
The Vespa food tour was the best which Ms Dao also set up for us!
Thank you so much for making our Girl’s Trip 2024 so Epic!

We purchased a ticket that included a drink, which I think was good value. The observation area is enclosed, with floor to ceiling glass windows. There are a couple of areas with glass floors. It was a bit confusing finding the right entrance as we went into the shopping centre first and no one seemed to know what we were looking for. Make sure you go into the hotel entrance.

Tran Quoc Pagoda with its stunning architecture, calming ambiance, and significant cultural values should not be missed when it comes to exploring Hanoi.

It is the oldest pagoda in the city. A sacred gem in the middle of West Lake. Tran Quoc Pagoda can offer visitors a unique cultural and religious experience.

We came here during weekend and the entire place was car free with lots of night activities, night market stalls, bustling cafes, bars & restaurants to suit every kind of budget. The only downside was the weather which was extremely hot & humid in the month of August. It was very hard to call for ride hailing as the traffic was jammed packed with honking scooters left right & centre. We were dying for air condition after walking for almost one hour.

The weather was very cold but atmosphere was very cool. We love walking on narrow but clean brick-paved roads in Duong Lam ancient village. And ride a bike is very interesting, too. But I am not a good biker. hahaha.

We found ourselves immersed in the strategic layout and historical significance of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. Its architectural grandeur left us in awe. A casual yet enriching experience for us.

Found our way there ourselves. Had no guide. Went for a walk along the bridge about 1km then turned back. The path felt like it was not a path and now and then we had to get on the road to carry on. You could see through the board, sometimes wobbly ones, right through to the bottom. We enjoyed it. Scenery was something we would not have seen otherwise. Some interesting things below the bridge not in built up areas. We enjoyed it - a different experience - and now we know the history.

As we walked around the HCM complex, it appeared that the major attraction is the HCm Mausoleum. This attraction is one of the several attractions located in the vicinity. My guide pointed it to me and learned that it is not open to the public.

Since there are other open attractions to visit in the area such as the Museum, Pagoda, the wide open space, etc. we proceeded to visit them.
