Had a great experience! Our host was very friendly and helpful with making the pottery. It’s extra special to take home a souvenir that you made yourself, thanks a lot :)

I am very interested in the street photography. When I was in Hanoi I decided that I needed a guide to help me take good photos. I was very lucky that I chose Mai Hue's photo tour. He is a real expert in all sorts of cameras.I have a Panasonic mirrorless camera. He didn't have any problems to adjust all the settings in 5 minutes. We went to locations where I could catch a glimpse of life in Vietnam, took many photos and at the end of the tour discussed how I could improve my skills enjoying Vietnamese coffee at the same time.

One more thing. Mai told me
that my camera was good but its lenses were not the best for the street photography. I still could shoot very good photos, thanks to Mai's professional advice and patience. He recommended which lenses I should use next time. I bought them after that trip.

I cannot wait until I am in Hanoi again and have another photo tour with Mai to try
the new lenses, taking more photos and enjoying his company.

My time with Frank was outstanding. I had rode scooters before in Indonesia but was never too confident and Frank spent one on one time with me teaching me how to use a semi automatic motorbike. After an awesome lesson, he took me around the smaller villages, rivers, and markets near Hanoi and was extremely patient and positive. We shared tea and amazing local food and he gave me a local experience on a bike that I will never forget. I felt confident enough to drive off road and in Hanoi traffic. After the day, we shared beer and fruit. I was nervous about the Ha Giang loop but feel confident to do it by myself and explore Vietnam on a motorbike wherever I go.

    Would 100% recommend!

Getting to know Hanoi through Duc was fun, the experience full of learnings. We appreciate how accommodating he is. Enjoyed the drive to the countryside to visit the incense village and even tried our hand at dyeing the sticks and setting them out to dry. Loved the egg coffee in a cafe in one of the oldest houses of Hanoi. Overall enjoyed the day.

A super fun activity to do in Hanoi and suitable for anyone! I learnt so much from Giang and inspired to explore natural dyeing at home! The silk is sourced locally so it’s a really special souvenir to take home with you. Giang has a lot of knowledge on the area and is great to talk to. Thank you for the lovely experience.

The thing i really like about the tour was the good relationship between the tour organiser and the owner of the incense factory we visited. We were treated to a delicious lunch, and allowed to go around and see all the different steps in the making of the incense, which was fascinating. If i had just turned up, or been with a larger group, i am sure this would not have been possible. The photographer guide was great too and suggested some photographic shots i would not have thought of, he also took a photo of me with the incense, which is probably my favourite photo of the whole of my six week trip in Vietnam

I felt so lucky to find Momentlives and was able to take a half-day workshop with Chu Viet Ha on my last couple of days in Hanoi. As a lifestyle family photographer myself based in US, I’m always into street photography but found it really difficult. Chu Viet Ha opened my eyes to his approach of connecting with people, his super unique perspective, as well as his view towards street photography. If you love street photography and want to bring your photography skill to the next level, you will not regret booking this workshop with Chu Viet Ha.

I was on a 10 day photo trip with a small group. Momentlives were our local tour guides and the ones who made all the in-country accommodations, domestic flights, ground transportation, and arranged all our meals for the ten days. They are also experienced photographers who have made it there goal to know where and when to photograph as many locations in Vietnam as they can possibly scout. We started in Hanoi where we toured places like the midnight market, many fantastic location in and around Hanoi as well as the surrounding country side. We then took a domestic flight to the central part of Vietnam. What a beautiful country and the people were so friendly and tolerant of photographers capturing images of everything they were doing. I give credit to Trieu Son and Hoa Nguyen Duc for developing the relationship with the local people and in some cases the local leaders for this kind of access. I got the most fantastic images in this part of Vietnam. One of them was chosen by our local newspaper as a winning image in their annual “Travel Photograph of the Year” contest. We took another domestic flight down to Saigon and again Son and Hoa knew exactly where we would get the opportunity to capture wonderful images. The accommodation they arranged through out the trip were always the best available at that location, most 4 and 5 start hotels or resorts and even the locations that did not have that classy of accommodation, they found us wonderful places to stay and made up for not being 5 star by having a wonderful location, view, and staff that were great. I just can’t say enough about Son and Hoa of Momentlives, they were so friendly, knowledgeable of both Photography and the in-country travel/accomidations, and Food.

I visited Hanoi with two of my friends, and we were so lucky to find Dien. He took us through old town to have some amazing food and coffees in places we never would have found without him. Finally, he took us to the train tracks to have some drinks and watch the trains go past. It’s an experience I’ll never forget, and I was so glad that I came across Dien. A really great guy who felt more like an old friend than a tour guide. I’d recommend him to anyone.

This was a very enjoyable and cultural experience with phong who was well versed in the history of the village and the processes of the pottery making. The pottery class was a lot of fun and we got to decorate and take our pieces home. Recommend to learn more about Vietnam.
