My husband and I had an unforgettable experience with Halong Cruise Hunters! From the moment we booked, everything was handled with incredible care. Our hotel was a bit outside the usual pick-up area, but our booking manager, James, went above and beyond to arrange a pick-up. We were promptly picked up at 6:30 am, and after gathering the rest of the guests, we embarked on our journey. The ride to the port was comfortable, with a pleasant stop at an oyster farm along the way.
Once at the port, we were greeted by Tim, our cruise manager, and directed to the Athena Luxury Cruise, where we were surprised with a complimentary room upgrade! The ship itself was beautiful, and the lunch buffet that followed was full of delicious local Vietnamese seafood and fresh fruits, with a few western options. Afterward, we explored a cave and relaxed on a beach, taking in the stunning sights of Halong Bay.
Happy hour, a cooking class, and a delicious set-menu dinner made the evening feel magical. We even got to try squid fishing at night! The next morning started with a light breakfast before a peaceful kayaking adventure. After checking out of our room, we enjoyed an early brunch of more delectable Vietnamese cuisine before heading back to the harbor.
Everything, from hotel transfers to the excursions, was flawlessly coordinated, and the communication was excellent. The views were beyond breathtaking, and the whole experience felt personalized and unrushed. - 101spike9 contributionsBooking via Trip Advisor from the U.K. we weren’t sure what to expect, would anyone even pick us up as agreed from our hotel. We needn’t have worried as communication was superb, we were contacted via WhatsApp multiple times to explain all of the transport arrangements, any additional costs, and options such as room type. Everything was made very clear and the driver arrived on time and was very helpful. The cruise itself was amazing, everything it promised and more. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom with a huge shower. The crew onboard wete all lovely, there was always someone on hand who spoke perfect English to help you out. The food and drinks were of good quality. All the activities were great, and not to be missed. Some of them are a little challenging if you’re very unfit or claustrophobic but don’t worry everything is explained beforehand and there is always a way of avoiding something you might not feel confident with. We did amazing activities and explored the beauty of Halong bay with an amazing cruise boat and crew who guided us well through the experience with amazing professionalism! Robert scheduled our cave tour and bamboo boat ride so that we arrived before the crowds. The kayaking gives a great chance and find some hidden spots you wouldn't see from the boat. Titop island has a lovely viewpoint and the surprise cave is a must see! The bus is very comfy and the boat and it's staff were great! Ben is a fantastic tour guide, very funny and informative! - Kilian T5 contributionsThe trip was perfectly organized. Danny and his crew did an amazing job in finding very private areas to swim, snorkle and Kayak. Danny even invited us for night kayaking to see shiny plankton. The chef on board cooked amazingly fresh and delicious Vietnamese food. They also adjusted the menu to more seafood as per our request. We strongly recommend this operator - and specifically Danny - a young and highly motivated, extremely friendly tour guide with years of experience - 11 out of 10! The rooms are beautiful with ensuite that has a spa, seperate dressing area and a big window to watch the scenery as you go by. There are several outside decks and a pool. The food was excellent, as was the service by the staff. The day tours were sooo much fun and very informative of the local area. The scenery, cave and waterways were wonderful.
