Hi! Can someone tell me if there is a difference between the CM Sunday Night Walking Market and the CM Night Bazaar? I constantly see information on both, but cannot figure out if these are the same thing? If not, does the Night Bazaar run every night? Whats the difference between the two? Thank you!
Answer: The Sunday market is also around the streets near the Three Kings Monument and it gets packed with mainly Chinese tourists during the afternoon.
The Night Bazar starts about 5 pm and goes on until about 11 pm. If you go earlier than 5 pm most stalls are just being set up. The Night Bazar is to the east of Tapae Gate. If you come out of Tapae Gate from the old city and cross the paved area next to the moat, then turn right and walk along the side of the moat a couple of blocks. There is a sign pointing to the left saying Night Bazar.
Then you will see a bar on a corner on your left called Baba Bobo Bar with a picture of a tongue hanging out of a mouth. Cross the road from the canal so the Baba Bobo is still on your left and walk along that road which is full of bars , crossing over a river until you get to a T junction with big hotels either side. This is the Night Bazar which has stalls both sides and several alleys going off the main Road. There is a Red Lion Pub in one of the alleys if you like real ale, Guinness etc as a change from Thai beer.
