We booked this 2 days before and wanted to see Doi Inthanon and get as much in as possible with one trip. Every tour seems to include a trip to a village, and this one was no different. There are 2 caveats I feel are worth mentioning:
    1. The guide is from the village you visit (so he was left behind once we left) - there may be some arrangement between tour companies and these villages because the hike required 1 guide per 10 people.
    2. We didn’t spend too much time at each stop and we didn’t feel compelled to buy goods, but the option was available. But it did seem very touristy.

Overall this was good. We didn’t spend any time in water even though we were told to bring swimwear, but the hike was beautiful and worth all of it. If I could suggest an improvement it would probably be explaining why we made various stops so that I can give them purpose, otherwise when we stop at this row of tables and have 10 minutes to buy things if we want, the first thing I think of is tourist-trap. If we were told something like “hey this helps this village I’m from” that would be compelling and help fill the narrative. Basically, I felt like I understood more about the trek at the very end when we left the guide behind than at the beginning.

I spent most of my time in the Old City. Lets start with the weather, although rainy but not heavy enough to deter us going out. After rain temperature as low as 24 degree C. In the Old city, many temples to visit. All within 10 to 20 mins by Grab or Tuk2.
Must try their local coffee shop food - cheap and tasty. Plenty of massage at every corner. Noticed also there are Pharmacy at every other corner as well.
Food - try Khao Soi (Curry Noodle), Tom Yam of course.
Hotel aplenty, streets are clean unlike many cities. People are friendly.
plenty of drinking holes. Many with bands.

We hired Green Trails for our trips to see the hill tribes, they are so good, their logistics impeccable, their tour guide Ja is a pleasure to work with, she is fun energetic, she knows everything and she is so cute and fun!!
Franz knows the region like the palm of his hand, the transportation was amazing, we got to really know the real Thailand and I would do it again and again. if you are looking for an amazing company this is the way to go.
