My first Onsen experience in Thailand was quite memorable.
I have had the same in Japan but had forgotten what it was called.
This place came highly recommended from a friend so I had to try it.
Tip: Pls make reservation for body treatments much in advance as they get sold out very soon.
They easily have more than 20 treatment rooms but because of the popularity, they are usually booked.
Another tip: Go for Onsen for atleast 1 hour duration. I was there for 30 minutes and regretted. ONce you have had their body treatment, you cannot come back to the Onsen area.
Now what is Onsen: Think of it as a communal bath with various water pools at different temperatures that help body with aches, pains, blood circulation etc.
Apparently they get their water from Japan which is their speciality.
Directions on how to use various water pools are very clearly marked alongwith benefits of that pool.
I felt really relaxed after the combination of hot, cold, very cold and silk water baths. It was a very calming feeling. I was all set to sleep but realised I had booked myself for a body scrub and massage treatment.
The body massage was surely in the top 10 I have ever got. My therapist twisted me like a pretzel and I felt so relaxed and pain relieved. She was very good. I usually prefer a male therapist but they didn't have any available at that time.
Body scrub was very good.
Will happily come back again when I am in Bkk. This was an experience and I don't mind spending few hours on my next trip.
Will recommend to one and all.
The spa from inside is a sanctuary of calmness and peace. One can spend hours here.
