The food was superb and so so tasty. We booked the morning session as it included a trip to the local morning market, which was a great experience in itself. The cookery school is so well laid out, with a prep area, a cooking area, then a dining area to sa ple your creations. If you are looking for a cooking school, do not look any further than Tingly Thai 5 stars plus. - mandesmith13Canberra, Australia26 contributionsI had a great time doing the course. We had a great tour of a local market which discussed the ingredients used for this cuisine. Then we went back to the classes and had the knowledgeable staff walk us through how we needed to prepare the meals we had selected. I chose Pad Thai, Spicy Chicken Larb, Black Pepper Beef and Green Chicken Curry. All turned out really well so my lunch was very nice.
Getting there was quite easy as they are located close to one of the BTS Railway stations which is a really good way to travel in Bangkok.

The explanation when preparing each dish was very clear. Safety around the cookers was clearly outlined.
The food is simple when done by experts and was delicious. Be prepared to eat lots of fine food. First you meet up at the cooking class and then visit the market which os 5 min walking distance. Pimmy gives excellent advice!! Going to market was a plus and seeing the different ingredients used for the dishes I cooked was wonderful. The instructor, Ant, was vivacious, funny, enthusiastic, and encouraging -everyone in class had so much fun. And getting the recipe book was a bonus - now I’ll feel at ease preparing Thai dishes at home. The flavours of the food are delicious and getting to eat what you cook is the best part! Led by the teacher and 2 supported by 2 fantastic assistants we made 4 hugely successful meals and shopped for ingredients in the sort of market that is definitely NOT on a tourist map. - Francesca E1 contributionI would recommend to everyone visiting Bangkok to go to Mahanakorn cooking class! Joyce is funny and so lovely! Very accommodating and responsive! The food is made from scratch by you and all the ingredients are completely fresh. Unsurprisingly it tasted delicious! Do not eat before because you will be full when you leave. Some of the best food I have tasted in Thailand.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class and was most definitely the highlight to my trip.
Also a 5 minute walk from Wat Paknam temple which you can visit before or after your experience.
