- David WColeshill, UK110 contributionsThis was such a highlight of a wonderful holiday . Early start for the drive up to the viewpoint. It was dark when we arrived and then slowly as the sun rose the mountains started appearing . It was something I will never forget .Written December 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bryan HPortland, OR1,669 contributionsThere's a good stretch of walkway where you can enjoy the lake and also the chaos of the town. Countless bars, restaurants and such line this walkway with mostly guys trying to lure you into their establishment with phrases like, "Happy Hour!" and "Local music!". The locals hang out here as well, so it is a nice mix of tourists and people from Pokhara. There's part of the promenade that covers the granola, vegan hipster smoothie shops and such. If that's what you're looking for, keep walking to the end. Didn't go out on the boats because the lake didn't look that clean and I have an acute fear of drowning, but many people paddle and row their way into the very center of the lake. The mountains surrounding the water help make this a very serene and unique place in mostly dry Nepal.Written March 15, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LolaGo1Washington DC, DC6,640 contributionsAfter taking of my shoes, I walked to this temple. Noted several buildings here: golden arches, main temple, etc. Inside the temple, a man asked me to walk toward him. He gave me a small cup with water and instructed me to pour it over an oval object. He chanted a prayer as I was pouring the water. He then put something on my forehead. First time to experience this!
There is a statue of Shiva inside as well as a very colorful painting of him outside. Surrounding the temple below are shops selling various crafts and souvenirs.Written March 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So the area is full of lovely children and deliscious cheap momos and choweming. Everyday Puja is organized around 3 PM, but it was not in the day that we went, because of tibetian new year. The monks went to their families.Written April 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
