The stupa was a very interesting place to visit. We walked around the outside, which is completely lined by multiple-storey shops and cafes. It was interesting to sit in one of these cafés and people watch. The place definitely had a peaceful vibe about it.

Famous hindu temple, unique but scarry. This famous, sacred Hindu temple & cremation site on the riverbank was rebuilt in the 15th century.

Visiting Swayambhunath Temple in Kathmandu was a serene experience. The ancient stupa, adorned with fluttering prayer flags, offered panoramic views of the city. The peaceful ambiance, coupled with the temple's spiritual significance, made it a memorable journey, blending culture, history, and tranquility atop the sacred hill.

This is a historical, cultural and religious complex in Kathmandu consisting of temples, shrines and monuments that are key part of Nepalese identity. The site is old dating as far back as the 13th century. Many buildings are very interesting and historical. One of them is the palace of the current living Kumari Goddess. We happen to see her at 4:30 from her balcony “audience” inside her garden.
The square is very busy, a bit dirty and often times chaotic. Tickets for foreigners are 1000 NR for the day. You probably will need a guide since there is no signage or sparse literature to explain the sites. Personally, I found the Durbar Squares at Patan and Bhaktapur to be more interesting and pleasanter to visit. But this one should be visited nevertheless.

A beautiful walled garden - an unexpected joy in busy Kathmandu. Lovely lay out, beautiful buildings and a quiet place to relax and recharge. Has a restaurant. Note that there is an entrance fee.

What a lovely Museum and their collection is great! It is not very big, but all the art pieces have QR codes that you can scan and read! So you can be there for hours if you wish. Also it has air conditioning which is nice if you are looking for a little break from the heat and free WIFI! Anyways I really enjoyed it!

I have bought a sweater in 6 years ago and love it. So, during my second trip to Nepal I made sure I visit the store again. I stock up on high quality sweaters, pants, gloves and socks. Even Mr. Keshab gave me a scarf as a present for my extensive shopping. I recommend the place to anyone who appreciates quality cashmere products.

Swami Basu and his wife, Binita provided such a warm and welcoming retreat environment. I felt like part of the family and I learned all kinds of meditation techniques. My favourite part was the warm water healing bowl massage from Binita and learning Buddhist principles from Swami Basu while walking the beautiful countryside. My private room was very clean and comfortable. I appreciated having my own en suite toilet. The food was hygienically prepared, very simple, healthy, wholesome, and lots of variety! We saw fresh soybeans for sale from a neighbor and that evening they were on the menu. Even as a non vegetarian eating vegetarian food there, you’d never go hungry. There was always something protein-rich on the menu, and they are very accommodating to requests: when I asked for yogurt once, it appeared at every meal.
