I went with a few friends to visit this climbing wall. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. To hire shoes, harness and chalk bag was only 800 rupees and that included 5 climbs up the main wall, which was 2 more than I could manage. It’s an oasis of peace in the middle of a busy city. We stayed for a pizza and a beer. Very reasonably priced and the food was excellent. I’ll visit again next time I’m in Kathmandu

Good things first, it’s only reserved for tourists, the food is free and so are the drinks (provided you push the staff), there are dance performances which you can watch for entertainment. Good things end here. The place is small, tables are old, staff is unhelpful, all the people who play are mostly regulars and it’s not easy to mesh with them, the tables are crowded so it’s difficult to place a bet, food is not worth the standard of even a medium hotel, in short it was a BAD experience.

The roulette tables are overcrowded and others like blackjack are totally empty. The tables are on the left side as you enter and to the right is a stage where there are live performance (dances to indian songs mostly) and then in front of the stage there are tables to sit down and have drinks and buffet meals. The food is ok. Overall, I thought it was as much as you could expect in Nepal.

    The Good:

    1. Food was good. Dancers and their performance was good too.

    The Bad:
    1. They charged us INR 2,500 per person for 5 persons and let 2 children free of cost ( 12,500 INR in total). That included pickup and drop from our hotel, buffet dinner, some hard drinks, dance performances and coupons worth 12,500. Charges were a bit on higher side given the size, crowd and behavior of Casino.
    2. Those coupons come with some T&Cs and you can play with coupons on limited no. of games. Roulette has the condition that you can use coupon only on - Black, Odd and 19-36. That's it.
    3. If you win - then that coupon is replaced by another coupon (it can not be en-cashed yet), that coupon also follows the same T&Cs.
    4. To summarize, they have made it extremely difficult to recoup your money back.

    The Ugly:
    1. Casino is not up to the international standards.
    2. Staff is not very well trained for the customer service as well as for running of the games either. Roulette is managed manually by hands (first time saw something like that), Dices are rolled very poorly. They are not very polite with the customer
    3. People were showering money on the dance girls like a sleazy dance bar. Though women and family members were not uncomfortable but again this doesn't really happens in a casino of international standard.

Compare to other casinos in the city is bigger, more decent, more clean with around 20 slots machines, electronic roulete and some tables. Overall average but still better that the other terible casinos we visited in the city.

Another positive was the casino was offering free transfer to our hotel.

Although we have been to many casinos around the world and in the other place in Nepal we were shocked to see that are allowing kids in the casino together with their families and even worse allowing then to play. That was a huge shock for this reason we will never go back there.

I signed up and completed the 7 day advance Sound healing course. The course structure was very informative and well planned. The center is very well equipped!! After completing the course I have good knowledge on the history, business and how to conduct a private and group sound healing session, Sound bath and meditation. The Lotus team is professional, flexible and so helpful. Snacks, tea and a 1 day trip to the monkey temple was all arranged by the Lotus team. Thank you team Lotus for this amazing experience and for sharing your passion, love and light. I’ll be back soon to visit my Lotus Family.

Definitely our best decision to go outdoor climbing with KSCC! The staff was very professional and had a good vibe. We felt instantly at home and felt more like a fun day with friends. (But then with friends who could climb insanely well and stuff).

We went climbing outdoor. We normally do bouldering and only a little toprobe so were a little hesitant how the grades would be. They cheered for us and gave us motivation to not give up.

Back at the indoor gym we stayed for a bit. Not that our arms could climb that much more, but cause of the good vibes. We would recommend everyone to go there.

Even if you haven't climbed much, i think it would still be fun. We went to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park cause there were a few more easier routes. I feel confident to try the other one next time.

Paintball Nepal is a great outdoor paintball facility with excellent markers and protective gear.
Their field is set up as mix between woods ball and speedball. On the big field you have natural obstacles like trees, but also man made obstacles like bunkers, pallets, animal statues (!!) etc The prices are honest and fair (3 $ per person, including 30 balls) and they provide a great costumer service, everyone was so nice! The staff was really focused on safety and gave a good briefing before starting. There was a great variety of obstacles on the field and we could play a lot of different games. Afterwards we stayed chatting in the lounge with the (English speaking) staff, they were really friendly! Paintball Nepal was easy to find as we were staying close to the tourist centre of Thamel, it was only a 1 km walk !! In short, we loved the experience! Everyone visiting Kathmandu, should go and play!

I was lucky enough to stumble across this place while wandering back to my hotel in Thamel. It's easy to find, just above the 'Everest Irish pub'. They have a different film on every night and are always open to suggestions about the schedule. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable about films. Drop by to see your favourite recent films and a few classics you'd forgotten about while enjoying a drink or two from the bar downstairs. Anyway, for the cheap, cheap price, it sure beats watching TV in you ur hotel room.

I was impressed by this theater in Kathmandu. We saw Avatar in 3D. The facility is large, clean, and has a lot of cool lighting features and seating outside of the cinemas. The screen was large and the 3D worked pretty well, although it was hard to see properly from too close. The seats are comfortable, but they do not recline, and the armrests do not go up. Weirdly, even though they lack these basic features, they vibrate for action in the movie, which gets kind of annoying, since it's just the same kind of vibration no matter what the action is. Also, the theater very abruptly stopped the movie at a random point and put "Interval" on the screen...like an intermission. But, they didn't say how long it would be for. They started playing commercials and previews very loudly, so we took a break and missed a couple of scenes once the movie started up again. Btw, the movie started exactly on time; it seems they show previews in this "intermission," which definitely disrupted the flow.

The movie theater has a concession stand and a cafe counter, which was helpful so we could get dinner. The concession counter had a large menu, but only had a few items in stock: chicken burgers (which they microwaved whole, ew, but were actually somewhat tasty), nachos, popcorn, and Pringles. The cafe had more choices, such as chicken and veg pastry wraps, brownies, doughnuts, and coffee drinks. There was also a stand selling "American Sweet Corn," which was funny since that is not an American thing; we got an order and it was plain boiled corn with masala spices. You can bring the food into the theaters on trays, which you hold on your lap. The bathrooms were pretty clean. It was hard to find the theater (it's on the top floor, and the escalators don't all work), and leaving was jarring and confusing (they made us go out the exit door and just kind of dumped us into the empty mall, without working escalators, and the mall doors were locked at night...some local people showed us how to find the basement parking lot and exit the building). Anyway, we plan to go back if there is another English-language or subtitled movie we want to see. I'm glad to have something this nice close to Boudha, where we are living for a few years.
