Cannot speak highly enough of Kalpanas cooking class. She was so welcoming and explaining what to do. She even made the momos gluten free when she learned we couldn't eat wheat (we were happy to just learn) and they were so good. We were excited as we are gluten intolerant and assumed we'd never know what a momo was like. Got to see her home garden and even play with the adorable family dog. If you want to learn to make delicious nepali food, this is the way to do it!

My time at Namaste Cooking School was nothing short of amazing. Nestled in a tiny part of Kathmandu Valley, this gastronomic jewel provides a genuine and immersive experience in the heart of Nepali food.

I knew I was in for a surprise as soon as I walked into the cooking school's warm atmosphere. The instructor, Chef, exhibited passion and competence as she guided us through the complexities of Nepali cooking with elegance and excitement.

Namaste Cooking School distinguishes itself by its hands-on approach. We learnt to grind spices, chop vegetables, and perfect traditional cooking skills under the chef's skilled guidance. Each dish we produced was a delicious combination of flavors, scents, and colors that reflected Nepal's rich culinary heritage.

What I liked best about this trip was the emphasis on genuineness. The chef revealed not just her culinary knowledge, but also the cultural meaning of each dish, allowing us to comprehend the complexities of Nepali food.

The class size was small, creating a sense of community among participants as we collaborated to produce culinary delights. The atmosphere was casual and favorable to learning, making it ideal for both newbie cooks and seasoned culinary connoisseurs.

Overall, my visit to Namaste Cooking School was a highlight of my trip. Whether you're a foodie trying to broaden your culinary horizons or simply looking for a fun and instructive experience, I highly recommend Namaste Cooking School. Prepare to embark on a delectable trip that will entice your taste buds and leave you with a renewed love for Nepali food.

Cooking with a local family was a very nice experience at the end of our trip through Nepal.
We started by going to the local market to buy fresh vegetables. These were then prepared with us and the family, resulting in a very tasty dal bhat. It was a very nice evening.

Recently I took cooking class in Kathmandu while I was in tour to Nepal. The class provided an immersive experience into the heart of Nepali cuisine, guided by knowledgeable instructors who shared their passion for cooking.
The hands-on experience of the class was particularly enjoyable, allowing us to learn typical recipes and cooking techniques while using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From momos to dal bhat and carrot pudding; each dish we prepared was bursting with authentic flavors that left a lasting impression.

Overall, it was a memorable and enriching experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the vibrant culinary of Nepalese people and this class offers a fantastic opportunity to learn, create, and indulge in delicious Nepali foods.

My partner and our daughter love The Traveling Spoon - we had a fantastic experience last year in India so when we planned our trip to Nepal we knew we wanted to see if there were any opportunities to do a similar experience.

Due to timing, Pooja was not available so asked if it was ok for just her mom Manju to host us. Manju was so wonderful and we really enjoyed meeting her! We were welcomed into their home and visited for a bit before starting to cook together. My 12 year old daughter is homeschooled and a very experienced cook - Manju expertly taught us how to fry Mendu Vada (lentil donuts) and mix up aloo ko achar (spicy potato salad). She had made a bunch of other tasty dishes ahead of time and we had a wonderful lunch together.

We really enjoyed the cooking class. There was a great menu where we got to select the dishes we wanted to make. The chef was very patient with us when trying to fold the momos!
Atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and you do as little or as much cooking as you like. The kitchen was very clean. The best part was eating the food, it was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend this for a short, enjoyable and interesting activity whilst you are in Kathmandu.
