I went here yesterday and it was closed off for tourists/general public. I am told that the site is now protected and might be reworked for reopening in near future. A slice of Mauritian history.

The citadel itself is not that interesting with the exception that it is not good to defend the harbor but to subdue the city but it provides the best view of the city.

It was very nice to see fully furnished colonial house. Even though house is not in best condition, still could imagine life style in colonial time. We really enjoyed having lunch in the restaurant. Should invest some money to recover beauty.

Bring your camera when it is sunny. take time to go around the place. Count at least 20-30 mins to visit properly

What a great place to stop for a quick history fix. Thoroughly enjoyed my guided tour and learned lots of new facts. Takes about 15mins and well worth the Rs100 entry fee.
