Worthy of a visit if you are near Port Louis and a fascinating look at how the Brits pioneered the indentured labour system here in Mauritius - before taking the model elsewhere around the world, with some well written display boards that are informative and set the scene well. The building itself is what is left of the processing centre for new labourers arriving in Mauritius, at the port, and apparently over 430,000 people came through here. Even reading all the information and pondering in detail what it must have been like, this is probably only a visit of about one hour. As a visitor from the United Kingdom thought this was well worth a visit, if anything just to further ponder our own country's role in schemes like this.
