Nice beach, well looked after . Poor for snorkelling nothing really to see. Nice food and drink if you are at once of hotels that have private restaurants on the island .

I’m fascinated by Mauritius and its history and the Sugar Adventure was the right place to know a little bit more about the history of Mauritius. The site is amazing and very clean. We did the visit by ourselves. My only negative point was the guy who did the sugar tasting maybe he is new but he was really in a rush for making us tasting the different sugar maybe he wasn’t very comfortable. But I’ll still give a 5 stars to the place because I had a great time with my colleague.

We self drove and had free parking for the gardens. Entrance is to the right of the lot, and payment was 300/adult. If you pay cash, bring bills smaller than 1000. Once in the park, be prepared to be approached to hire a guide for 75/person. We were told the English tour had just started so ran to join in. Guide did speak English, but mostly French. Learned a lot as we made our way around the park. Guided tour is about an hour. You are free to wander on your own.

Nice & simple little nature park with a lot of crocodile, tortoises (that you can feed) and a fabulous restaurant.
    Very clean toilets.
    Ideal for younger children.
Done in 2 to 3 hours max including lunch
    Loved it

The houses in the area are quite run down. However, it is a beautiful beach. Great for snorkelling. Street food is inexpensive and great. We were there on a Saturday and it got quite festive with families coming to the beach and playing music and just having a good time. All in a nice way.

A short stop away from where we were staying we visited this and 7 coloured earths the same day. No need to pay for a tour or guide to visit the view point. Either hire a car and visit or walk from 7 coloured earths.

We only stopped at the view point as the weather had been bad for hiking ( lots of rain) but it meant that the waterfall was full compared to other pictures we had seen.

After a short walk from the parking lot you reach a view point over the gorge. The entire valley is spread out with the natural amazing forest, the big waterfall and endless skies.
And just to complete the settings there is a family of monkeys living in the trees

Our visit to Chamarel's Seven Coloured Earth was truly a mesmerizing experience for my family and me. The natural phenomenon of the seven-colored sand formations left us in awe, showcasing nature's artistic prowess in a breathtaking display. After exploring the captivating landscapes waterfalls amd tortoises, we indulged in a culinary treat at the on-site restaurant, boasting the claim of serving the coldest ice cream in the world. True to its promise, the ice cream was not only refreshingly cold but also delightfully delicious, offering a sweet conclusion to our adventure.

However, our enthusiasm was slightly dampened by our experience at the souvenir shop. While it offered a variety of mementos to commemorate our visit, we found the prices to be exorbitant compared to similar items available elsewhere in Mauritius. It was evident that the shop capitalized on the influx of tourists, viewing them as walking ATMs and inflating prices accordingly. Despite this downside, the allure of Chamarel's Seven Coloured Earth remains undeniable, offering a unique and unforgettable experience amidst Mauritius's natural wonders.

Really interesting and knowledgable guide whose name I didn’t catch!
Really good value for money with a lovely boat ride across the turquoise sea. Plenty of time given to see and hear about the important work being done to protect the endemic species
Keep up the excellent work it’s so important for future generations
Thank you for a lovely 2 hours

We visited a couple of times as this beach has it all - easy parking; shady trees; soft sand, sandy bottom in the sea so no need to wear swimming shoes; warm sea; rope & buoys for designated safe swimming area; very few motorised vehicles - pretty perfect!
Our 1st visit was on a public holiday so it was busy but a fabulous family friendly atmosphere - lots of groups of families and friends eating together. There were so many food trucks with delicious noodles and fresh fruit.
Our 2nd visit was on a weekday and was practically empty (it is a huge stretch of coast line). Very different experience but lovely to be able to swim and build sandcastles with pretty much just us!
My tip is to go half way down the long stretch if beach so not near the ends with more people and boats.
    Don’t forget your rash vests!
