An informative guide walked us through stunning scenery, describing the flora and introducing us to a number of lemur families - explaining the distinct characteristics of each species.
Guide with excellent English explained the purpose of this 5 hectare park - to rehabilitate lemurs where possible and to educate local children.

For those who are physically fit, I would possibly recommend walking on the road back from the Anja Reserve to Ambalavao- beautiful countryside with authentic, picturesque villages and plenty of children screaming...
In just 30 minutes in the reserve, which is set in the most stunning location, we saw a large family of ring tailed lemurs who came really close to us, which was an incredibly special experience.
