Stumbled into a great gallery with astounding work from Ouraraze set in a beautifully restored riad.
Fantastic multi-room ehibition space, showcasing exemplary contemporary art.
You enter into a wonderful and peaceful courtyard with palm and bitter orange trees, rose bushes, etc. Everything from the incredible tile and wood work is explained in several languages, including English.
In the interior you can admire the wall decorations but also an art collection of the US-curator Patty Birch, who has rendered outstanding services to the preservation of Moroccan art treasures.

A wonderful spread of art from the early 1900s to the late 1970s with some beautiful pieces, really showing how much talent Moroccan artists from this period had.
There are also photographs by Dora Maar reflecting their relationship, both artistic and personal.

Overall, a great place to seek out if you want to take some peaceful time out from the hustle and bustle and learn more about the fabulous world of Moroccan art and culture.
The small but carefully curated collection brings together the work of European orientalist artists and photographers with that of modern and contemporary Moroccan artists to reveal the links between them.

The museum itself has a wide range of different types of modern art — painting, photography, sculpture and installation — providing an insight into the concerns of contemporary African artists.
Amazing wood crafted sculptures, vividly coloured graphic art designs, and themes relating to wood, the sea, the environment, pollution and recycling.

During my visit there was an Exposition for Life featuring works from Ramzi Adek and of course there was the Collection of paintings done by Louis Morrere at the turn of the 20th century.
This is a fabulous private gallery housed in a beautiful colonial mansion.

This is a nice little museum located inside Ksar Tissergate which is just a few kilometers north of Zagora on the main highway.
I was pleasantly surprised with how much is actually inside the museum, as often Moroccan museums are lacking.
The staff are so friendly and enthusiastic, the exhibits are extremely professional (in French, English and Arabic) and I learnt a lot about some amazing Moroccan women.
Opened only in autumn of 2018, the museum is devoted to remembering the history of women in Morocco, how female pioneers shaped the culture of their country and also promoted women's education.
