Keawakapu Beach Wailea
#104 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
Like almost all beaches in south Maui, the sand is perfect and waves are gentle, but this beach is lined mostly by expensive ($10M+) homes and the beach can’t be seen from the street, so it is often missed.
It continues to get busier each time I visit, but understandable as it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Wai'anapanapa State Park Hana
#109 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
From the black sand beaches to the lava rock cliffs and gorgeous views of the ocean, this park will leave you awestruck.
... it's way too crowded to enjoy for long, so take the ancient King's Trail (hiking path on the far side of the beach) up the rocks & over to an area that has smaller beaches with few people & an awesome blowhole.

Ho'okipa Beach Park Paia
#122 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
A beautiful, windswept location with surfers, windsurfers, turtles and seals, so different from our beaches in Fla.
It is on our list of top 3 favorite beaches on Maui!

Ka'anapali Beach Lahaina
#129 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
Clean, easy access to water (no rocks or coral), great waves in-season, whale and turtle watching from the beach, great, wide beaches full of soft sand, lots of great dining choices within walking distance...what...
Both Kaanapali and Kaanapali North beaches are excellent for swimming, paddle boarding, walking the long beach fronts, observing sea turtles, snorkeling at Black Rock or taking a stroll on the path

Kamaole Beach Park I Kihei
#130 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
As with many Hawai'i beaches, this park offers beautiful grassy areas, picnic tables, barbecues, and sand volleyball courts right before you walk to the sand.
The beaches were clean and roomy, great snorkeling off the beaches, I saw a number of larger fish and a few green sea turtles.

Napili Beach Lahaina
#133 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
Just 5 minutes north is the elegant and exclusive Kapalua with it's world class golf courses, upscale hotels, dining, shopping and incredible beaches!
Back to the beach, if you want something quiet yet fun go to this beach plus there are 3 other beaches that are walking distance across a boardwalk with great surfing waves and a cove with tons of turtles.
Wailea Beach Wailea
#134 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
One of the most beautiful beaches ever!! Giant sea turtles right there.... swim with them!... and enjoy the perfect sand!!

Wailea Beach Path Wailea
#135 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
The path winds around many of the resorts, Andaz, Grand Wailea, Four Seasons, Kea Lani, Polo Beach, etc. Stunning and picturesque views of the Ocean, Molokini Crater, lush vegetation and beaches.
fully paved from Andaz to the Fairmont, you get great views of beaches, rocky outcrops, Molokini, interpretive signage and access to the high end hotels along this strip on Wailea beaches.
Kamaole Beach Park 3 Kihei
#137 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
Everything you want by the ocean: soft sand beaches, surfing, swimming, interesting volcanic outcrops, vistas
Take the north beach access path to the beach and snorkel rocky point between Kamaole 2 and 3 beaches to find nice coral, plentiful fish of numerous varieties and some turtles, as well (saw 4).

Kamaole Beach Park II Kihei
#141 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
This is one of the nicest beaches in south Kihei, safe for people of all ages, with easy beach access and fairly close to some fun snorkeling spots.
We enjoyed easy access to nice beaches, great boogie-boarding, and awesome snorkeling.
1 Way to experience it
Makena Beach Wailea
#142 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the major hotel beaches and Makena Beach offers a great secluded area with gorgeous sand and water.
The view over to Molokini is stunning and the closeness to the lava fields mean the sands have that caramel color but just a tad more of the black specs than many other Maui beaches.

Kapalua Beach Kapalua
#143 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
We went to several beaches in Maui and this one has it all: convenient parking, great swimming, excellent snorkeling, good paddleboarding, and an amazing trail (Kapalua coastal trail).
As with all of the beaches in Maui- this place is truly beautiful!

Kahekili Beach Park Lahaina
#145 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
We have snorkeled on most of the Maui beaches and Kahekili is among the best of those that are easily accessible.
One of the biggest beaches I've seen !! Calm and peaceful and ideal for kids (my daughter who was 14 lovvvvved it )

Red Sand Beach (Kaihalulu Beach) Hana
#146 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
This beach rivaled wianapanapa for beauty and just being a unique beach quite unlike most "normal" beaches.
My husbands mission was to reach red sand beaches shores so...following directions about taking paths on right hand side of community center in Hana was interesting to say the least.....you first have to find path...

Maluaka Beach Wailea
#147 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
Even with helpful directions from local residents and guidebooks, it took us two separate trips to beaches just south of Wailea to find Turtle Town, a place to see a large number of turtles.
In Maui for a week with our own snorkel gear, we used a guidebook to try out numerous beaches.
3 Ways to experience it
Ulua Beach Wailea
#150 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
Unlike some beaches, the waves are a little more kid friendly and perfect for boogie boarding.
Like most South Maui beaches, your best snorkeling is before noon due the consistent trade winds.
3 Ways to experience it
La Perouse Bay
#158 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
The trail is an easy trail that winds between the old lava flows and beautiful little beaches.
Once you get out to the lava fields you'll be treated to Coral beaches, wonderful pools, and great vistas.

Honokalani Black Sand Beach Hana
#162 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
Normally I try to find beaches that have white sand, but the Honokalani Black Sand Beach is amazing.
I've seen black sand beaches before, but it is always a beautiful sight.
Baby Beach Lahaina
#164 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
... he isn’t able to swim on his own yet, baby beach had calm waters for him to enjoy and also shallow beaches with reefs for us adults to enjoy snorkeling, there are a few colorful fishes in the eres and even som...
There are three different areas you can park, but as with most public beaches in Maui it does go quick so be prepared to drop off some of the family and park further out.

Big Beach
#170 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
It's beautiful beach on Maui! Dreaming of laying out in the sun and enjoying one of many Big Island Beaches? "I think 'Yes!".. Just stay there and enjoy it yourself!
There were lots of wake boarders and people along the beach but you had the luxury to be a little more spaced out than some of the other well known and highly visited beaches on Maui.
2 Ways to experience it
Polo Beach Wailea
#172 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
What a perk and for only a tip!! Water was great and there was a sandy bottom, unlike much of the West beaches which have lots of coral to step around.
Best in the morning, like most Maui beaches.
3 Ways to experience it
Little Beach Wailea
#176 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
You cross Big Beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches we saw in Maui, then you climb a lava rock natural stairway to little beach.
Of all the beautiful beaches on Maui, this is one of very few that is clothing optional.

D.T. Fleming Beach Park Kapalua
#184 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
We visited 6-7 beaches on Maui and this was the perfect combination of gorgeous sand to lay out & perfect swimming conditions.
Gorgeous beach that is a bit less crowded than surrounding beaches.
Hamoa Beach
#188 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
I like cove beaches that have lava rock / boulders / trees / fauna on both sides that give that cozy tropical feel and are nice for climbing / exploring.
There were three beaches I thought were truly iconic of Maui and worth ones' while: Hamoa beach in Hana, Kapalua Bay on the West side of the island, and Big Beach/Makena Beach on the Southwest side.

Slaughterhouse Beach Lahaina
#198 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
I lived in Maui for a couple years and have been too many great beaches that require you too drive lengthy distances that have somewhat large crowds.
One of our favorite beaches we've visited on Maui the past 2 weeks.
1 Way to experience it
The Spa at Black Rock
#201 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
Black Rock is a stretch of volcanic rock that juts out into the ocean from the beaches.
The black rock lava formation splits Kaanapali beach into two beaches.
2 Ways to experience it
Po'olenalena Beach Wailea
#208 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
There's also a great variety of backgrounds (rocky outcroppings, sandy beaches, "grassy" green areas, and even a small wooded area with trees).
A little off the beaten path, this beach is away from the hustle of the more popular Kihei and Wailea resort beaches.
1 Way to experience it
Honokowai Beach Park Lahaina
#233 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
A play area for the kids, sandy beach, reefs right offshore that invite fishing and playing in the gentle surf, and plenty of trees that offer shade from the sun.
Nice beach, small waves, but the real gem are the turtles you can find here every day.

Baby Beach Spreckelsville
#239 of 541 Outdoor Activities in Maui
This is one of my favorite beaches to take my Grandson too, they have small pools of sea water for the young ones, and outside the sandbar, nice waves for the teens and Dads.
Beautiful like all Maui beaches but exceptional for children
