I read a lot of reviews before I book any activity so I’ll try to be detailed. The Calypso is well maintained, very clean and a very nice boat. There isn’t much left to be desired there. It has a glass bottom viewing deck, a slide, a jumping dock, a bar, and plenty of seating. The crew is as polite as can be expected when entertaining hundreds of tourists. The equipment is clean, well maintained and there is more than enough to go around as far as sizes go. A variety of wetsuit and rashgaurd options were available. There were also an incredible amount of options as far as floatation devices go. There seemed to be passengers that couldn’t swim and also many passengers that had limited swimming abilities as well as many small children, all of which were catered to. I heard staff easing those scared of the water into the water and getting them comfortable with their floatation devices. Safety was also stressed along the way, roll call was made after every stop. Reef safety was stressed and reef safe sunscreen was offered for free. The food was good, don’t expect restaurant quality, as the crew is feeding a large quantity of people in a limited space. There was sausage, egg, muffins, fruit and juice for breakfast, veggies and dip for snack and sandwich options, cold and hot for lunch with sides and also dessert. There was plenty of food and we even went back for seconds. There was a photographer there offering options to buy photos, we didn’t buy any but I thought that was a nice option. You could also rent video cameras and regular cameras which I thought was also a nice option for those who may be looking for that. The stops also didn’t seem rushed, it seemed to be just the right amount of time needed to look around. For me, the only drawback and it was a big drawback for me was that the snorkeling really wasn’t great. We didn’t see many fish at either location and the coral was so far below (depth wise) that the colors are very diluted. After having snorkeled at Honolua Bay and Kapalua Bay I supposed it’s hard to compare anything after seeing the vibrant reef and incredible amount of fish and turtles. I hate to take a star away as a review buuutttt it is a snorkeling experience. Because of that, I wouldn’t partake again but for those who do not plan to go out on their own and find and snorkel at other locations then this would be the place to go. Also if you enjoy boat rides, if you enjoy drinks on the water, if you do not own any snorkeling equipment and want to have an all inclusive experience then this is definitely for you!
