We arrived before they opened and while waiting, watched paraglides sail off the mountain behind the Lavender farm. What a fun bonus. Once inside, we took a picture of the map of farm and began our wander. The gardens are laid out like an English garden, but felt more relaxed than those. We enjoyed the walk and many varied plants. Several types of lavender were beginning to bloom, but many other plants were blooming. This was a lovely peaceful morning excursion. I’m happy we went early, a van of tourists arrived halfway through our wander and it wasn’t as peaceful then. The gift shop was lovely.

I would have enjoyed a guided tour with someone who could tell us more about the plants, I knew some, but not all.

Flew in for a 10 day vaca and needed some surboards for me and my little grom - they hooked us up, steering us in the right direction giving us boards that matched the waves and skill level. They have a wide assortment of boards to choose from, far above the stores that sell only the foamies. Aside from the great selection of surf gear, they have really cool products. IT'S MY GO TO PLACE FOR ALL THINGS WATER FUN! Thanks Mike and killer staff!

We went to several liquor stores around Maui looking for aged Philipino rum and finally found what we were looking for at Tamura's. People were only buying poke there, though! We hear it's the best on the island.

The place is small but the area/decor/outside speaks history so that in itself was super fun - the huge chimney outside and the gear added further charm (it's an unusual location, pretty much on the main road going through Lahaina near by a gas station/other businesses, very unassuming)

Inside plenty of coffee to chose from and great descriptions, reasonable prices, the lady in there was very nice to recommend/answer my questions since... sadly nothing was available to try - this was our only coffee place we visited during 3 weeks on 4 major islands where we couldn't try what we are buying - no sampling somewhat defeated the purpose for me here and had I known I would have not arrive probably and simply buy the coffee somewhere else... but do I regret it? No, since we were driving through this area of the island either way (stayed in Kihei).

Just for the record - this is simply a store selling coffee, not a farm, plant you take tours in etc.

TIP: they close pretty early and in Nov 2022 they were still "recovering" from COVID hours/staffing issues

Amazing banana bread! The best I've ever had. Hot dogs and shave ice were tasty as well. Nice quick stop for lunch or a snack along the Road to Hana. To note, there are no restrooms here, so plan accordingly.

Fabulous Saturday market with plenty of Upcountry bounty. Great selection of locally grown fruits and veggies. Friendly vendors, unique craft products, and a beautiful setting.

If you like hot sauce, be sure to check out HI Spice - incredibly delicious, made with locally grown ingredients and creative combinations. Clearly proud and passionate about their products.

I love pakaloha bikinis and Tiff was extremely helpful. I would not have found the right top style (puamana) or color combo without her assistance... And bonus, she helped me find two when I went in for one.

There used to be a shop in Whalers Village but that closed up. Now we go here or we order online. They still have the "loyalty" card where they affix a pineapple stamp for every $5 of purchase made. When the card is filled (20 stamps) it is redeemed for a box of 8 cookies. Cookies cost $1.50 each so that amounts to $12.00.

By mail, there is no loyalty program. By mail, the selection is limited as you cannot pick your favorites out (like we would do, choosing Kona coffee and dark chocolate dip) but they do make great gifts to have sent to family and friends.

This time around, the store was a bit of a disappointment. The young girls staffing the store spoke in booming-loud voices and laughed together, talking among themselves. It struck us as terribly unprofessional and exceedingly rude behavior. Very childish.

    Ayway, the product is good.

I had bought a Ukulele from Mele in Wailuku about 15 years ago and was very happy with my purchase. Decided to drop in again on my trip in August 2022 and was helped by Annie. She was very helpful, friendly and knew a lot about what she was selling. Ended up buying another one and had it shipped to me. Look forward to getting it. They have a great selection and something for every budget. Prices are reasonable. They now have three locations in Maui.
Same owners for 28 years I believe. They are Ukulele experts and the Wailuku store is their original store.

I really wanted to have hair braided and read reviews before I arrived in Maui! I am so glad I went. It was so nice to have hair braided and out of my face for tours, snorkeling and lounging. It was so relaxing and I fell asleep in the chair!

We were driving around the island and stopped by Karen's Leis and were glad we did. Amazing small family business with neat things to buy. If is an array of alot of collectible items that are one of a kind. we bought many things, the owner wrapped them up for the long trip home. Best of all, nothing got broke or damaged. Kudos to this small family business. great Job !!
