This was one of most beautiful waterfalls I have ever see. It is so nice to get up close, hike behind, swim in the water around it.

You can do a little cliff jump in between the two falls if you like.

Make reservation far in advance. Touch hike and totally worth it if you are physically able to scale rocks and hike up and down elevations on slippery muddy trails. You will have to cross a river at least 5 times and will get wet doing that. Wear proper shoes that are sturdy and can get wet. Most beautiful hike ever. Swim in the cool water pool below the falls. It is 8-9 miles round trip. If that is too much for you then just go 2 miles to the beach and hang out there before hiking back. Great views/jungle.

Another quick stop and photo op. Would be cool to see it closer but I highly doubt that would be possible. Ventured across the road as well and took pictures of the river. Great views and quick and easy with lots of parking.

We took the Island Helicopter tour which is the only one to actually land at the falls. So worth the extra cost because you get a unique experience of The Valley. It really gives you a sense of the primordial. Like creation could happen here. It is only a very short walk fron where the helicopter lands to the falls.

Beautiful waterfall! Must-see! Only accessible by water. You have to rent a kayak, paddle the river for about 45 min, then beach the kayak (take your valuables with you) and hike about 20 minutes alongside the stream to get to the waterfall. Most of the hike is on raised wooden walkways. The waterfall is a remarkable payoff for your efforts. Plenty of room to wade/submerge yourself in the pool at the base and under the fall itself. Very rocky in there though. One of the best things we did on Kauai.

Definitely worth stopping by and checking it out for half an hour or more! Long pathway makes it fun viewing from different perspectives. In addition, across the street there's an excellent view of the Wailua river.

The hike to the falls was continuous up and down but it was a good work out. The Falls were pretty. Trail to falls would be slick if raining.

Just amazing! Bring lots of water. It's a tough hike, but totally worth it! Wear clothes you can go swimming in, and plan on wading through streams.
