Very easy to get to and not off the beaten path, but not as impressive as I remember from previous visits when the water pressure was much higher. My wife said today's visit was just a trickle. Nevertheless, definitely worth a visit and I highly recommend.

Very difficult hike, no point going 2 miles to the beach because there’s no beach, just rocks and can’t swim. Plan to go all the way to the waterfalls, return is very tricky, slippery rocks and give 2 plus hours up and down. Check the weather conditions before going, if it rains, the trail is gonna be hell. Take lots of water. After beach, the trail is unpaved, hard to see the trail if people are not on it especially after river crossings. Try to leave early so you have enough time to enjoy and come back. The last pick up is at 5:40 PM.

This was part of a Princess cruise excursion. While we have been to Kauai before, this was our first time visiting Opeakaa Falls.
It is a short, easy walk to the falls from the parking lot. The falls are a long distance from the viewing areas, but still scenic.

Absolute must! Great way to spend around 3-4 hours! You can join a tour but it is SUPER easy to go on your own.

Rent a kayak and start from Wailua State Park Boat Ramp (there is plenty of parking, bathrooms, and an outdoor shower). DO NOT go from the “google” trailhead off Kuamoo Rd…this is closed.

We heard to start early, but we went on a Monday in November around 930am and it wasn’t too busy. Easy 2 mile kayak up the river (30-45 min), about 30 minute hike (flat, easy, and some walking on platforms) to the waterfall (gorgeous waterfall to hang out and have a snack/lunch), 30 min hike back, and 45 mi. Kayak back (slightly harder depending on wind/current).

If you have time…stay left at the fork in the river kayaking… it goes to past Fern Grotto for another (30-40 min round trip). Beautiful remote kayaking. Really enjoyed this kayak/hike and exploring Kauai’s beauty.

    MUST wear water shoes.

The views of the canyon along the trail made the hike incredibly worthwhile, even more so than the waterfall itself. (It’s a pretty underwhelming waterfall at then end of the hike)
We went a day after heavy rain, but surprisingly, most of the trail was pretty dry. However, this left the dirt loose and slippery, especially on the downhill sections, so be prepared and take it slow in those areas.
As someone in decent shape, I found the hike to be easy to moderate— though I had a few close calls with slipping! Overall, it's a beautiful hike, but be cautious with your footing and enjoy the stunning canyon views along the way.

Definitely worth stopping by and checking it out for half an hour or more! Long pathway makes it fun viewing from different perspectives. In addition, across the street there's an excellent view of the Wailua river.

My wife and I went on this boat tour. We were placed on Grace and Danny’s boat. Honestly, we travel all of the world and look to soak in all the fun excursions we can. I have to say, this is definitely one of the top three for us. And easily top excursion and a must while in Kauai. These two guides made it the best day ever. A lot of fun energy, great music and we saw everything in one trip. Dolphins, whales, caves, turtles, fish, exotic birds and views for days. Great knowledge of the land and history of the people. 10/10 will recommend to all of my personal friends and family.

Just amazing! Bring lots of water. It's a tough hike, but totally worth it! Wear clothes you can go swimming in, and plan on wading through streams.

I thought the tour was absolutely amazing. I thought the crew was incredibly knowledgeable about Hawaiian history with interesting fun facts along the entire Coast. Where ancient Hawaiian royalty were buried and also ancient villages thrived on the rugged Coast along with so many movies and videos that have been filmed along the coast. I had done a lot of research and thought I was well prepared but I had only begun to scratch the surface of knowledge the crew was readily prepared to share. Just when you thought we couldn't get any closer to the rugged shore we were in a cave with a massive waterfall splashing down right beside us. The captain located of pod of spinner dolphins and they were very happy to see us jumping out of the water and showing off with their unique display. I never could have imagined a place like this existed on Earth, but it was literally like being on another planet. I would highly recommend Nepali Riders to anyone who wants the adventure of a lifetime. A key selling point for me was they are United States Coast Guard Veterans and it showed in the way they handled the boat and the waters keeping everyone safe and sound on an epic adventure.
