The photos turned out great. - JKNiebsLoveland, OH65 contributionsHighlight of our vacation on the Big Island! We chose New Year's Eve for our trip as a unique way to celebrate the end of 2024 and the start of 2025. Adventurous vehicle climb up to the visitors' center for a prepared dinner and short hike to see silverweed, a stop to see the observatories, sunset at approx. 14,000', and stargazing just below the summit (we even could see the lava eruption at the park). Our teenagers enjoyed the tour tremendously! We all had a touch of altitude sickness, but, worth it for the experience! Room was clean and instructions were easy to follow. Our guide Donna was awesome (get her to take your picture — the woman should have been a photographer!). The musicians played professionally for the entire dinner and show. Dancers had several costume changes, and there was great variety from number to number. Great family time. - Barb B6 contributionsOur family really enjoyed this activity. There were 4 that drove their own ATV and had a great time. I rode in the UTV and enjoyed having the driver/guide tell us about the property, including the various vegetation as well as info on Hawaii. Stopping at the various areas to learn about some of the Island countries that have contributed to the culture of Hawaii regarding food, rituals, music and games really made for an enjoyable and interesting experience. - JackySaint Joseph, MO14 contributionsDramma was our tour guide. She was fantastic. We booked a private tour. She modified nicely for us and packed in an amazing amount of stuff. We switched to the Hilo only tour because that is what we wanted, she was super flexible. Great information and too many fabulous views to count. Downtown Hilo (coffee, chocolate, volcano eruption photography artist, fruit market, fun shops), sunning sea turtles, black sand beach, Rainbow Falls, massive mango trees, huge Banyan tree, Volcano National park (steam vents, stunning views of the caldera, and lava tube walk!)
Our guide gave us fantastic information and was brilliant with accommodating everyone’s interests.

The trails were fun, had beautiful views, and the pond for the swim portion was an awesome time! 10/10 would recommend travelers (or locals like myself) to do.
