I have been there numerous times, last one November 2019. Vera and her husband are great people! Always fine artwork to look at and purchase! If you miss Hawaii like I do, can't wait until this is over so I can safely hop a flight and return to my favorite place to visit, just get on Vera's email list. You may see a piece of artwork that catches your eye and reminds you of your past vacations. If you do, just buy it!!!!! Ya need to bring the Aloha to your home for awhile!!!!🌈🌞🌸🏵️🌺🌸🌊

My husband and I visited Lava Light Gallery our 2nd day in Hawaii. We were in awe of the beautiful images the photographers captured. During our entire trip, my husband and I kept talking about the wonderful images the lava flow created especially after our helicopter tour around the island. Our last day there, we went back and purchased an image from CJ's private selection. What is amazing is their photos go well beyond the art work hanging in the gallery! YOU MUST ask them about the "hidden gems" he has!!!
Our beautiful picture arrived less than a week ago. We are so excited to hang it up once our custom lighting is finished!

What a collection of treasures in this charming gallery of hand-crafted Hawaiian art! Friendly and knowledgeable staff can point you in the right direction in selecting the perfect gift or keepsake for that special person.
When you arrive at the address, the shop may appear to be closed. But if you ring the doorbell, someone will be with you quickly (the cutest sign says "Try wait 3 minutes"). Check it out! You won't be disappointed!

Beautiful sculptures, incredible, friendly staff and a wonderful display of art. Be sure to take it all in. We loved the beautiful turtles, they looked so real. It means a lot to know these are locally made in Hawaii ❤️ Most are made by glass or wood, which are great! Please continue to use these metals. It helps the local economy.

My sister, husband, and myself visited the Tanglewood Gallery in January, 2019. We were very amazed at the awesome photos of Hawaii by Harry Durgin. We spent a couple of hours looking at and choosing the photos we wanted to buy and take home with us. Mouse was graceful, informative, and patient with us while we choose our photos. Amazing photos and their own special frames that make the pictures even more unique. We definitely enjoyed our visit and the hours of work that goes into these special photos. Thank you Mouse, Harry, and Little (their amazing pup). A must see if you are in Pahoe, Hawaii.

Happened to be driving by and saw the sign. This rather large gallery has an interesting collection of high end artists featuring scenes from the big island. The wood exhibits are the star of the show - simply wonderful. Staffed by friendly volunteers, worth a stop.

While this is a small gallery, and it is a bit off the beaten track.. this gallery is a gem.
Beautiful art glass, with all kinds of price points to purchase.

Niaulani Nature Walk, the centre was closed bUT we were able to do the nature walk on our own. It is not long but well worth it. There are signs marking everything and it's like walking in Jurassic Park! The tree ferns are magnificent and there are lots of great places to take pictures. Looked through the windows of the center, but it is only open Monday to friday

Pahoa has been impacted by the volcano eruption with fewer tourists. This shop has many items made by local artists who can use your support. Go to Pahoa and take a look, they appreciate your business.

This art gallery provides a specific and apropos subject matter to it's art collection: volcanoes. Explosions, lava flow, Pāhoehoe, A'a, into the water, vents and everything and anything dealing with volcanoes. I cannot think of a more perfect gallery to be found on the Big Island of Hawaii!

A good place to find art at very reasonable prices. Also an excellent place to shop for greeting cards and fine crafts made by local artists.

Just passing though and decided to stop in this little hamlet. There are a number of high quality shops and gallerias here. And this one is one of the best. I was struck by the craftsmanship of the wooden boxes. They are truly a work of art.

This detached shop is near the Hilton Hotel. All items are handmade or artist-made. I left with a bag full. Currently her hours vary (owing to covid), but when I saw through the window the delights inside, I called the owner. She arrived within 10 minutes. That is amazing customer service.

Maybe but yes according to the count online. Is this supposed to be some kind of watershed event in my life? I doubt it but it seems to hold some unknown significance in my mind. I was thinking I would be writing some meaningful, personalized prose for #1000, possibly a culmination of some sort of whatever it is I'm doing with these reviews, but I doubt that as well. Maybe I'll only talk about the East Hawaii Cultural Center - no I doubt that too. While this place is kind of an interesting looking building - an old police station I believe - it is really unexceptional. Or at least my visit was I think. The only area enterable is part of the ground floor which houses an art gallery now featuring an exhibition by an artist named Douglas Diaz. This exhibition is titled "Grief" which is something I should've easily connected to but didn't. I'm absolulely sure Diaz puts a lot of intense thought and effort into his work, but I didn't get it. Wish I did if only if for the selfish reason to believe I have some sort of depth to my existence. And why I make walking into a minor art exhibition a definition of my being is incomprehensible to me as well. You know, I think I should go back and look at Diaz's work more closely than I did. There are lots of words on some (maybe all) of his works. Basquiat did a similar thing. I shouldn't have just glanced at them. I should've given those words some thought. Actually it's kind of odd that I didn't if you know me and words. My mind must have been preoccupied with something else. I don't know - I'm thinking I owe it to Diaz and myself to go back and take a second look. I did have a nice conversation with the young man who was minding the store that day. Comes from Poland and told me he thinks Hawaii is the best place in the world to live like it's paradise or something. Hmmm. I talked with a homeless man in the park across the street after I left here. He told me he sleeps in the entrance way to this building every night. I was thinking about asking him to get me something but I didn't. Some paradise.
