Usually a nice walk. Has some pretty views of the water and surrounding area. Only word of caution is the area is kinda rough especially at night. I wouldn’t go down there after sundown. Homeless, gangs, etc. frequent the area so try and enjoy during the day and in groups.

The discovery center has a boat ride with a band which was fantastic. The museum was an extra plus for the boat ride. We were able to bring some snacks and drinks aboard.

A gem of Historical places with very knowledgeable docents that were very personable. (They have coffee mugs that have the correct roof lines of the Walton home.)

If you are a fan of museums like Ripley's Believe It or Not then you're in for a treat! Because this Dime museum is a one of a kind that really takes you back in what Dime museums are all about.

Having a tour given by the owner with his stories and explanation of the objects around the museum was amazing! And lets not for RED! Red's performance was amazing along with his story telling and really gave a look on what Dime museums and performers are all about, straight from someone who lived it.

If you are near or will be visiting August, Ga, make sure you make an appointment to take a tour of this museum because it's the only one left in the states!

I also want to point out that we were part of a tour group that had two 6 year old rambunctious children that the owner handled with love and care, which was awesome to see and because of the way he handled them, it did not ruin our experience.

Things to remember when visiting the museum:

    -Call to make an appointment.

-Bring cash (they only take cash at this time) I believe the cost was around $17-18 per adult and $0.10 for kids.

-Bring a jacket or a sweater because the back of the museum can get cold.

-He also have some of the rarest coffees so ask for a cup.

We recommend everyone take part of this side of history so it doesn't get lost.

Beautifully restored church. The stained glass windows are phenomenal. The grounds around the church are beautiful, too. Staff are extremely knowledgeable about the church’s history and renovations. Definitely a must see on a trip to Augusta.

Nice museum, great gift shop! The parking lot area is a bit overwhelming with the signs warning of towing your vehicle, and the parking lot with painted spots marked "reserved". It sort of seems unwelcoming. The beautiful museum is on the second level. We were greeted at the desk and received a warm introduction and a map. The museum was not busy. We enjoyed the exhibits and floorplan of the halls. The museum gift shop offered unique items for all ages at all price points. The clerk was very nice and obviously loves her work.
