What travelers are saying
- SagarSavlaJersey City, NJ178 contributionsWe visited this with our 7 year old. It was a rainy day so luckily there were less tourists. We could buy tickets last minute and enter. After a walk of 15-20 minutes we reached the beach. It was not too crowded as it was raining. My son and wife enjoyed swimming in the beach for approximately an hour. If not for the rains we would have stayed longer. The views from the shore is amazing. There are showers and restrooms very close to the shore. It was one of the nicest beach we visited in entire Costa Rica. I would recommend it if you in the area.Written November 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Amy RLexington, MA137 contributionsThis place is amazing. We had tried another Hot Springs in La Fortuna the day before but it was more like an amusement park, with lots of kids running around and loud music playing. Here it is serene, quiet, adults only, no music, absolutely clean, and each Hot Springs area is unique and kept up very well. Loved the springs where you could relax under a waterfall! Grounds are beautiful.
Towels are provided and changing rooms with showers available. There is a restaurant too, but we didn’t try it.Written November 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SagarSavlaJersey City, NJ178 contributionsVisited this with our 7 year old on the way from Guanacaste to La Fortuna. Roads are good. Highly recommend booking it before you reach there as network over there is spotty. There are 4 things to do in the park and they also come in the same order as you walk on a single trail. 1. Rio Celeste Waterfall 2. Viewing point to see the river water 3. Boiling waters 4. Point where 2 rivers meet. The waterfall itself is beautiful. To reach down to the waterfall there are approximately 200 steps. You can see the waterfall from midway of you don’t want to go down till the viewing platform. On the other 3 the last one was fascinating. Two rivers meeting. You can see two colors mixing. Was worth the hike. Overall the hike is moderate. Lots of ups and downs. So you will be climbing and scrambling a little bit. You would need to be of decent fitness to not struggle. We took around 3 hours to do the whole thing. You come out the same way you go in. It’s not a loop. Overall highly recommended this even if it’s not on your way.Written November 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 474lorenpChristchurch, New Zealand4 contributionsAs a Family of 5 with 3 teenagers we all loved this experience. It was our 2nd day in Costa Rica and exactly what we wanted to start off our experience. Most reviews I read across different sites recommended getting a guide and they weren’t wrong! We found a guide, non certified but I really don’t think that is a big deal as this place is quiet and we didn’t pay until the end so if the guide was not very good we could have refused/reduced the price. Within a minute of entering the park our guide showed us sloths, caymans, herons, iguanas. Along the way, 2 hours approx, we saw monkeys, both types of sloth, eye lash vipers and lots of bird species. We also were shown medicinal plants and told other interesting info. We honestly would have seen nothing by ourselves and would have found this park average as an experience. To top it off the gelato in the shop at the end was amazing!!!Written December 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Radiohead319Olveston, UK173 contributionsThis was a brilliant, relaxing and educational tour of their animal sanctuary. We learned all about how they rehabilitate the animals that come to them, and why some that have been raised as pets cannot be rehabilitated. A really engaging presentation style which was pitched just right for adults and children.
I don't think they are big enough to accept coach tours, so this tour is with just a few people, so no crowding to see the animals. Lovely gardens too. Paths are level with loose stone - so mostly suitable for wheelchairs and baby buggies, except the odd patch where stone is deeper/looser.
A really lovely trip. Although it seems expensive I think overall it was good value compared to other tours, plus it is supporting a great projectWritten February 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Once we arrived at the Caribbean, we got in the boat and along the river, Keylor pointed to the monkeys, caymans, birds, and turtles and they stirred the boat to allow the passengers to take pictures and videos.
After the ride, we were taken to the beach, where we bought coconuts from a local vendor (the water was delicious) and for the asking, he cracked the fruit so we could eat the meat as we continued toward the tower. The hike was about 500 steps, and the view spectacular.
The last stop was at the city (Tortugero) and we ate a traditional meal, ordered and prepared in advance of our stop. The natural juices of watermelon, pineapple or lemonade were served in a glass with a slice of starfruit! Very inviting!Written October 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KrestenHinton, Canada171 contributionsIt’s certainly not the Caribbean but if you like surfing it’s a great place. For diving / snorkeling very poor visibility when I was as there . Lots of trinkets being sold on the beach but a simple “no thanks “ was all it took . Got hassled for parking in spots a time or two . Beautiful views and nice sunsetsWritten November 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- travelmaven_7Los Angeles, CA4,255 contributionsNice historic theatre in the downtown San Jose historic district. You can go inside the lobby for free. But you have to pay to go inside the theatre.
There's also a coffee shop.Written November 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
