What travelers are saying
- mike r13 contributionsA great example of what national parks should be like. Pristine waters surrounding a nice sandy beach Caye. Live in ranger will give you a 10-minute talk about the island and what you can and cannot do. Bathrooms on the island along with a large picnic shelter. Snorkeling around the Caye was excellent. Do what the ranger says, and this reef should stay healthy. Please do not touch the coral and wear reef safe sunscreen. Places as nice as this are disappearing all too quickly.Written May 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bluejeanfoodPhiladelphia, PA646 contributionsYou are able to tour a working Fyffes banana farm that was spotlighted on HGTV and see how their daily operations work. The tour is extremely informative, well done, and definitely worth a visit. Once the tour is over, you get to enjoy fresh green banana chips that were cooked while you are there. They were SOOO good!!!Written August 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- CJBRJBGodstone, UK442 contributionsWe stayed 3 nights in the park in a private cabin. The cabin was large and well equipped, one double bedroom and a second bedroom with a single bed and two bunk beds. The cabin had a small kitchen and dining area, bathroom with a shower with hot & cold water and an enclosed verandah sitting area. The cabin does not have air con or a fan so it can get very hot. The cabin is basic but it was clean and comfortable. We had our own guide for the 3 nights so we bought in our own water and we had really great food delivered from Aurora's place just off the main road on the road that leads to the reserve. Staying in the park allowed us to go trekking early morning, during the day and in the evening. We also did some night drives where we were lucky enough to spot an Ocelot. We didn't see any Jaguar's unfortunately but we did see various snakes, spiders, birds, bats & otters in the river when we were river tubing. The hikes were varied, the best hike is the hike to the viewpoint and waterfalls - the suggested distance is definitely wrong for some of the trails. The lady in the reception area is very helpful as were all the staff that work in the park. If you do stay in the park accommodation you will need to organise your own supplies. Having a guide with us made this very easy, we definitely got more out of our visit by having a guide with us. The accommodation where our guide stayed had shared facilities so do check if you want to book something more private.Written June 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PEANUTToronto, Canada6 contributionsLola & her husband were a joy to speak to about Placencia & art in general. Wonderful sense of humour that allowed for some lively chuckles. Needless to say, I purchased several of her pieces- particularly ones that gave me a good belly laugh. Her daughter expertly rolled the canvas ones to make for easy transport. Thanks for your artistic insight Lola. Now I can enjoy them at home in Toronto.Written February 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LandscapeDesigner3Baltimore, MD321 contributionsGreat place and area to pick up some local gifts and hang out with the locals. Also right near where the fishermen bring in their catch of the day. Placencia Village, at the very end of the 16 mile-long peninsula is a great cultural experience.Written November 24, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zach SBend, OR15 contributionsWe went for the waterfalls and had an amazing time! They're easy to get to, there's a couple pools to swim in, and even a platform to jump from. The water felt amazing on a warm day and was a perfect way to cool off. We left feeling refreshed and energized and will definitely come back on our next trip to Belize.Written June 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Darrel NgSacramento, CA4 contributionsWent to 3 p.m. mass here on July 17, 2022. Because the priest had contracted COVID the day before, mass was turned into the Liturgy of the Word and communion service by lay ministers -- using previously consecrated hosts in the tabernacle. It was inspiring to see a modest building filled with the love of Christ.Written July 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - johnsonlnl29MN151 contributionsMy daughter and I joined the regular crowd at Belize Fit while vacationing. Tony is great ... nice all around WOD. The people in the class are friendly and helpful. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all working out at Belize Fit. I wish I had a car so I could have went to more workouts. It's an awesome option for those who like to stay fit on vacation or want to have a few extra drinks at happy hour and not feel so guilty about it! :) Bring Water and a towel ... it gets hot!!Written January 1, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heather PFredericksburg, TX6 contributionsThe factory tour itself didn’t last much more than 20 minutes. My favorite was the tasting of all the hot sauces, jellies & even a few wines! Our guide Clyde was funny & informative. We left with 8 bottles of hot sauce that we can’t get in the states. I loved this experience.Written May 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BackRoadBruceFlorence, CO280 contributionsI enjoyed my visit to Mayflower. Park staff was welcoming and helpful. The hiking to Antelope and New Waterfall was rewarding. The view from the top of Antelope Falls is spectacular. The ropes along the steep trail sections were much appreciated. The hike out to New Waterfall is easier and very peaceful. I though the waterfall was beautiful.
After the hiking, a bowl of ice cream at the restaurant at the in park resort tasted extra good. I look forward to returning and hiking the many additional trails in the park. I stayed in Hopkins. The park is a 20 - 30 minute ride away.Written February 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
