- RodWhite Bear Lake, MN2 contributionsLook no further. You've found the best! Caveman and his crew are first rate, professional, fun, energetic and extremely informative. Caveman gave us a wonderful intro before turning us over to Capt Chris and his first mate Julian (not that they were ever referred to as that). Chris is an amazing guy. And Caveman can pick the top guys on the Cayes because his company is at the top! I deduced this towards the end of the tour after quizzing Chris about his background, which is extensive. We did a half day tour which was enough for our group, and we loved it. As I told Chris at the end, there aren't enough attaboys given in this world, so when it is deserved I'm first in line to give credit where credit is due. Seriously, look no further. From meeting us at the boat dock and throughout the whole day, we felt very taken-care of. - Lorraine WWashington DC, DC43 contributionsFrom Belize City about an hour ride to ruins. Pickups may run late (30-44 minutes) so don’t panic…but host responded to call and inquiry.
Had a group of 8 in the van. Rained so jacket or poncho handy. Sell at gift shops when arrive to Lamanai after boat ride.
Saw 2 crocodiles, termite nests, herons, many different birds, but could only hear howler monkeys in the distance.
Lunch was delicious. Chicken, rice & beans, chips and salsa all fresh and homemade. Drinks provided but take water.
Tour guide knowledgeable of history and native to the area.

He had lots of experience and knowledge of the country, the birds, plants, the caves etc. Could learn from him all day. He showed my kids a great time (age 10, 12 and 14), and I would recommend both the zip lining and cave tubing for this age group.

His energy was infectious and he was so full of knowledge… very entertaining tour guide. His mom made us lunch and that was so good!
Super friendly, so attentive and kept us all relaxed and having a great time. The cave is impossible to describe adequately. Gorgeous. Peaceful. Enormous.

Elio was a great tour guide and gave us lots of interesting information while touring Xunantunich. Then as we got into the caves we were blown away. We left the tubes behind and explored some amazing areas deep within the caves. Victor was knowledgeable and give a great history lesson along the way. We learned about the various tries, plants and animals of the regions. - Holly S2 contributionsThis tour was recommended to us by friends that had used them before. We spent the day with Antwan, the owners son. He was an extraordinary guide. He was extremely friendly and kept us laughing and talking all day. We felt very safe, he knows the area and knows everyone! We drove out to the caves and he guided us exactly to the river, telling about the rainforest, and all the extras. We didn’t have to carry our tubes on the 15-20 min walk to the river or carry them back, which was really nice!! The float through the cave is about 45 minutes, and he had our floats chained together and guided us expertly through the caves. while talking and telling us all about the structures inside and the history of the cave. We even saw bats! Coming out of the caves, as we floated down the river, our rope snapped! Antwan was a professional, he kept us all together and no one tipped or fell out. He was amazing. He really wanted us to have a great experience and keep us all safe and it showed. On the way back, we stopped for lunch at his parents restaurant and had the most amazing food we have had in a long time. It was neat to meet his family and hear about their culture and country. It will be impossible to beat this excursion on our ten day cruise. - Rachel O1 contributionThis was by far one of the best tours we've done! Belize city was a stop on our cruise and we knew we wanted to do some Maya Ruins tour. This is one of the closest ruins to the cruise port. Dennis Jr. picked us up from the cruise port and to our surprise it turned out to be a private tour with just my husband and me. Dennis Jr. was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. It was about an hour drive there and an hour drive back so a lot of driving but it was awesome to see the city and Dennis Jr. provided tons of interesting information on Belize City throughout the drive. At the ruins, he gave us a very detailed tour and we got to climb up the majority of the ruins. He took our photos and the private tour was so much better than being in a big group. He even provided us with food recommendations and offered to drop us off at the restaurant. - Andrew B1 contributionOur full day, private trip to Xunantunich and cave tubing on the Cave Branch River was incredible. Our experience at the Xunantunich Mayan Ruins was extremely informative and a great opportunity to see the Belizean Jungle!
Our trip down the Cave Branch River was out of this world and a must do for anyone looking for an inland adventure while in Belize.
Cisco is a phenomenal guide- the best we’ve ever had. His unbelievable knowledge of local floral and fauna, Mayan history, and local culture and his personable nature are second to none. If any travelers are birders- he is your guide!
