Mayan Ruins, Wild Life, Amazing Jungle, Spectacular Views, Beautiful River with Birds, Butterflies, a History Lesson, Mayan Culture and Great Guides... Truly a Rewarding Trip !
You can self guide efficiently as there is a nice visitor center explaining many things, or you can use local guides (highly recommended if new to Maya temples and history).

My husband made me go and I was very hesitant at first, but this turned out to be a great tour.
Really interesting and informative tour.
A magical way to step back in time The ruins, the tree of life, the termite mounds and our wonderful guides from Black Rock Lodge made this day of exploration one to remember!
Selwyn at Belize Caving Expeditions was a fantastic guide for an all-day trip to Caracol and several side trips, including Rio Frio Cave and Rio On Pools.

Shark Ray Alley

Ambergris Caye
Definitely a cool spot - we snorkeled with sharks, barracudas, stingrays and sea turtles - in addition to all of the other fish and creatures you would see when snorkeling such a great reef area.
You get so entranced in the moment you'll forget to be scared (if you're fish averse) plus the hundreds/thousands of large reef fish swimming in between the sharks and rays make this a once in a lifetime event.

A visit to the Blue Hole in combination with some other snorkels/dives around Lighthouse Reef and a stop for lunch on one of the picture-perfect islands made for a perfect day trip excursion.

We took an airconditioned bus ride for about 45 mins with our guide, Juana a Mayan descendent, was great and did a wonderful job explaining Belize history and Mayan history.
The tombs were probably for the royalty at the time and contained lots of artifacts which were on display in a separate building from the museum of the stelae.

Great site with enough written history in the small museum and enough property to roam around to satisfy both the history and the active people in our group.
These ruins were blown up by dynamite so you have to be careful where you step at times.

Farm tour: amazing experience with eladio showing his farm.
To bad, because this is and amazing experience!
I was lucky enough to be greeted by a wonderful groundsman who shared lots of the history and interesting facts, including this being the only site you can actually get married at!
Even though there is only one remaining temple, it is the birthplace of the Mestizo peoples so it is significant in Belize and Central America history.
We took fotos and read up on the history of the great man and his contribution to a beautiful corner of the world, called Belize?
