It’s set on 500 acres, and in addition to the home and gardens, there’s also a visitor’s center and gift shop, and a gloriously restored Pullman railroad car because Robert Lincoln was the company’s president for...
The Dog Chapel Saint Johnsbury
The gift shop carries artwork of Stephen Huneck, the creator of the Dog Chapel, as well as many other gifty things, ie, Tshirts, mugs, cards, etc.

Adams Farm Wilmington
Took a trail ride with a knowledgeable and personable guide, and enjoyed the barnyard and feeding the animals with the kids.
Whether it's feeding the animals, hanging out in the rabbit house, going on a hayride or a horseback riding trail ride they enjoy every minute of it!
I cannot find the right words to describe the beauty of Smugglers Notch... Breathtaking nature... Green mountains, tranquil lakes, sparkling waterfalls, mighty Mount Mansfield - everything was stunning on a sunny...
The park serves as a trailhead for several hiking trails that stretch into Mount Mansfield State Forest, including the Sterling Pond trail that rises 900 feet to Sterling Pond, which is open fishing and swimming.
The docents were available to provide information about both the church and cemetery, but visitors are welcome to walk around and explore on your own.
Outside in the graveyard are many graves of Revolutionary soldiers and you can follow the signs to Robert Frosts grave.
The birthplace of our 30th President, Calvin Coolidge, has been wonderfully preserved by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation in Plymouth Notch, VT.
It allows you to linger in the house in which he was raised, and where he took the oath of office, ponder the impact on him of the beautiful, small village church across the street from his home, and watch cheesem...
We also took a horse-drawn wagon ride through the property, under blanketed warmth provided by the farm, and then indulged in some to-die-for maple fudge from the lovely little gift shop.
The farm includes a 19th century farmhouse you can tour (with narrative from farm employees), several Vermont farm life exhibits, and a museum shop and dairy bar.
We found this superb covered bridge while we were planning our 50th Wedding Anniversary trip from the UK and were able to include it on our route.
I loved that there were signs around with information about the history of the bridge, and it was so gorgeous with the Connecticut River flowing beneath it.
I value my annual membership tremendously and enjoy the walking trails, the lunch cart in the Farm Barn courtyard during "the season" for the delicious lunches, the cheddar cheese that is on sale at the welcome ce...
Beautiful farm with lots of critters like cows, rabbits, chickens, goats, etc. Be sure to visit the bakery...super tasty breads, cookies, and other yummy stuff.
Tasted the best maple syrup in VT, very friendly Staff and quite a charming farm with a lot food to choose from, from souvenirs to just watching a movie on how they make the syrup it was just a relaxing quiet farm...
They make in March, but the last couple years started on the last week of Feb. interesting and great stop for tasting, lots of gift items or souvenirs.
It was an impressive, highly enjoyable walking museum, well situated in the picturesque mountains of Plymouth Notch, Vermont, exactly where President Coolidge was born, grew up, went to church, lived as an adult,...
The tour guide was outstanding and offered a wealth of information regarding visits the President made back to his homestead, his childhood and , of course, his historic swearing in service by his father right the...
The cemetery is beautiful and very humbling when you see the craftsmanship that has gone into the headstones.
A place to visit is Hope Cemetery which is like an outdoors art museum of what can be done with the blue-gray granite which Barre is known for.
The National Historical Park features a very informative and interesting tour of a mansion last owned by Laurance Rockefeller, son of Joh D., Jr., and a philanthropist and conservationist in his own right.
The video at the Visitor’s Center was very informative and provided a good history of the Marsh, Billings and Rockefeller families that owned the property and their strong interest in conservation.
Guided tour or just on your own to roam around, great architecture, great history & the People's Museum decorating the Halls ... Wandering to the 2nd floor, in the back to my "surprise" was a well appointed "Legis...
The portraits of past governors, a statue of Abraham Lincoln and the huge Julian Scott mural of the Battle of Cedar Creek are some of the highlights of the art in the building.
On our way back to our rental house we saw this amazing farm on the side of the road and decided to stop and it was the highlight of our trip !! The workers were extremely helpful and kind by letting us be so invo...
We took the farm tour (highly recommended), and our tour guide Emma was awesome!
From Route 4 on your way north to Woodstock, VT, you travel thru Taftsville and will come upon this dramatic, striking, red covered bridge that sits over a waterfall.
Close to Woodstock and worth a stop on the way to Quechee for some great photos of a covered bridge.
They have a great gift shop filled with local items and everything maple (lots of free samples), sugar on snow during sugaring season and the BEST maple cremees around!
We watched the film (humorous narrator) about modern day maple syrup making and walked a short trail to see the sugar maple trees and the plastic tubing connected to the trees for sap collecting.
Starting with the Wellness Environment (WE) program (Google it!), the new teaching practices that emphasize hands-on learning, diversity, and collaboration, the new STEM facilities, and the relatively new Davis Ce...

The central monument is quite nice and affords a great view of the countryside from the top, the grounds are well kept, and the museum and statuary are very informative.
From ground level, you can admire the monument and statues commemorating heroes associated with the battle (there's also a gift shop), but I recommend payng the modest fee for the elevator ride to the top.
You should at least walk to the first small tower on the moderate/easy trail, where there is also a commemorative pile of rocks and a stunning view west toward Lake Champlain, south toward Camel's Hump, north towa...
You will see the lovely stone chapel, some of the ski slopes that connect to the Toll Road and wonderful views on the way up and down.

Be sure to follow this with a walk through downtown Barre to see whimsical granite sculptures and then take a ride through nearby Hope Cemetery to view amazing granite monuments by the best granite carvers.
... at Rock of Ages quite early but the lady in the information centre kindly let us in and turned on the videos for us so that we could walk round and learn about the centre - also incorporates a nice gift shop!

It was such a treat to drive through three covered bridges, take photos, and just enjoy the quaint beauty of these structures from the 19th century.
Great example of a stereotypical covered bridge in lovely condition, easy to find, and a spot to park while you take photos.
They are great stopping places when you are touring Vermont and enjoying all the great scenery there.
However, this only makes it easier to visit and photograph for pedestrians, as behind the bridge there is parking that makes it easy to get out and take photos.
nicely situated ... easy reachable by car from Stowe in a beautiful landscape (slightly hidden behind some trees)
This covered bridge is a one way bridge in a gorgeous setting and I got some of my best covered bridge photos here with great fall colors.
Dakin Farm Ferrisburgh
Great store with free samples of food items (a lot of them) ranging from cheeses, jams, meats, dips, etc. Bought their bacon and a bunch of other products.
Fabulous little gift shop full of all kinds of homemade VT goodness!
I made a trip with my family to Vermont during spring break to catch the last of the skiing season and it was a terrific trip!! Okemo offered lessons and has a wide range of slopes.
Son loves the trees, enough steeps to challenge all but the best experts, terrain parks, and the best cruisers around.
step back in time...cute General store with lots of interesting gift items.
It sells everyday items and fun items.
Beautifully maintained covered bridge perfect for a photo backdrop.
Lovely view from the bridge and great spot for some scenic photos.
