Interesting driving tour of one room schoolhouse, old Johnson family home, cemetery where LBJ is buried, and working ranch, with delightful tour conducted by Texas Parks and Wildlife ranger of the Texas White House.
The national park side of attractions has a self-guided drive through tour that takes you through the former president's life - his birthplace, first school, the Texas White House with the airstrip with Air Force...
The other reviews are right - excellent hiking, awesome views - just all around great. Park is kept litter free and it's pretty easy to wander anywhere.
The Vista at the top is breathtaking and for those with a love for science and nature the plants and wild life, including the fairy shrimp, provide endless enjoyment.
San Marcos River San Marcos
This crystal clear, ice-cold stream is a unique place to swim, fish, picnic, or just meditate at dozens of parks the City has created along the banks of the river.
The river arises from the San Marcos Springs, which originate from the Edwards Aquifer and are located in what used to be part of the theme park Aquarena Springs (now owned my Texas State University) and a museum.

Passed waterfalls, rock paths over the river, parks, historic bridges, local art, La Villarita - a historic Mexican Mission area, and wandered through streets of unique and beautiful mansions.
The central loop is loaded with restaurants and honky tonk places but the trails north and south are great for hiking and biking to places like the missions, King William district, and Brackenridge park.

A must visit and a lovely day spent just walking around and watching alligators turtles, birds...you can drive for most parts -except for the nature trails where you can walk or even cycle
Everywhere you are in the park you can find a park volunteer that can answer questions for you about birds, alligators, plants, snakes, and hiking and biking paths.
There was quite a bit we missed including the Nature Discovery Center, Discovery Theatre, Adams Bayou and the Outpost tour on a boat.
