Mohegan Bluffs

New Shoreham
An easy bike ride from town, uphill much of the way heading out Spring St. Stop by to check out the light (under renovation right now) and then down just a bit to hike down the steps and on to the beach at the bot...
The beach on Block Island below Mohegan Bluffs past the first promontory to the right of the foot of the stairs at Payne Overlook is a delightful, sandy beach where you’re free to wear whatever you want or don’t w...
This is the perfect beach for swimming, sunning, dropping a Yoga Mat, cast fishing, running with a dog, and walking under the stars.
Very beautiful beach surrounded by Dunes.Very ample parking & easy access to the roads both coming & going.
We had a stunning February weather day to visit, unusual, I know.... Superb, scenic beach!! Beautiful spot to walk/beachcomb.
It’s a perfect mile long beach with clean water, great surf and smooth sand but it’s drawback is the cost.
We went later in the summer so the water was a bit chillier for this time of year but the waves were awesome - perfect for riding boogie boards.
Misquamicut is a clean, large beach and the best for families as it is close to activities for the kids, more food choices and plenty of adult beverages nearby.

Mansion Beach

New Shoreham
Recommend it highly but get there by noon on great beach days or weekends or you may have trouble finding a park
Like all of the beaches that span Crescent Beach, the water is usually clear and beautiful (you may even spot a striped bass swimming pass!) and the sand is very nice.
Great beach!!!! Chair #2 is the best spot ever!!! Plenty of parking, great waves!!! Central to plenty of restaurants and shopping.
The beach has lifeguards, bathrooms, changing rooms, indoor showers ( for a small fee), outdoor showers, snack bar, beach store, and even a dispenser for suntan lotion if you forgot to bring yours!
It's quiet and clean, has beautiful powdery sand, gentle waves (due to a breakerwater about a mile off shore), nice protected dunes, a playground for the kids and pavillion with showers and a snack bar.
The beach has nice soft sand and the walk into the water has a very gentle slop whis is great for families with children
This beach can be a bit crowded in season, but it is the only beach with a pavilion and access to bathrooms and basic beach conveniences.
However even with iffy weather we enjoyed walking the beach daily and the surf was wild to watch!

Ballard's Beach

New Shoreham
Great location in Old Harbor with everything you’d need for a day on the beach; food, live entertainment, beach chairs & umbrellas for rent with beach side service.
You can rent chairs, umbrellas, kids cabanas, they also had adult cabanas on the beach, tiki bar, and a full huge bar.
sound of the waves crashing, the delightful breeze coming off the sea, the salt scented air, the gleeful voices of children enjoying their day at the seashore, the beautiful snack bar.
Very therapeutic to spent time at the beach just to relax with a good book or just enjoy the seacoast view; watch the various boats and ships pass by.

East Beach

Watch Hill
If you are able to carry the load and hike the hill you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where you can watch surfers and enjoy the refreshing ocean waves yourself.
Many fishermen drive their trucks onto the beach (there are several outlets/roads along the side streets) and spend the day catching stripers and blue fish from the shore.
I have been to them all and they are all very nice, but Blue Shutters Beach or East Beach are so much less crowded and more family orientated vs. the other state beaches who have many more teenagers and bused in p...
This beach is really very unspoiled and because so few people can get in, it is that much more enjoyable.

East Beach

Charlestown
Whether you're visiting or a lifelong Rhode Island beach goer, traveling to this beach will be a highlight of your summer.
The water was refreshing and pretty choppy, which is the way I like it; more fun than the calm CT beaches farther west on the Sound.
This beach is really nice it's clean has amazing clean soft fine sand very relaxing plenty of parking really an amazing beach.
In the summer the snack bar has the best lobster, in the fall and winter, its just nice to walk on the beach, listen to the water, and pick up some shells, and take in the views.

Third Beach

Middletown
Nice place to go with kids as well as you can spread out vs second beach.
Saw no facilities except portable toilets.
The Watch Hill Beach is a beautiful place to talk a walk, watch the sunset or swim in the clear ocean waters.
There wide and good walking distance alone , the weekends are crazy packed, so we would always go in the middle of the week.
I love the food, service, and view of the ocean...They have an outside bar for the season & even a mini park and playground for the kids...As well as a beach....Plenty to explore.... Truly an amazing experience an...
great food, great price .. awesome atmosphere ... if you want sea food this is the place ... ocean view also
We just enjoyed our 4th Summer visit to Neeport! Gooseberry Beach is our favorite beach The kids love swimming and playing on the beach The afternoon visit to the snack shack is always fun too!
You can even come and go throughout the day if you want which allows you to grab some beach time, hit the cliff walk and then head back to the beach later in the afternoon.

They also have a nice little snack bar and plenty of eating establishments in the area, and if you are in the market for fresh seafood, you can get right off the boat fresh seafood.
Walk to Georges to get food items and ice cream at their windows,a great beach for kids and a view of all the boats coming and going thru the waterway next to the beach.
There’s a single track road down to the car park by the beach with more toilets (closed in the Autumn & Winter) picnic area and another children’s play area and, of course, you have The Beach!
Starts out in woods, then along the cove, through open recreation areas, back into woods near the backyards of a residential area before arriving back at the starting area.
Our Pasadena son and twins regularly swim at Malibu and Santa Barb beaches.
Wonderful cove to anchor up your boat
The Nature Conservancy purchased the property that preserves pristine coastal pond, beach and shore environments.
Now you have to work a bit to get there: drive to the town beach in Little Compton, grab your stuff and walk a half mile down the beach, past the rocks, on the soft silver-gray sand.

Coast Guard Beach

New Shoreham
A unique view of the ocean and Great Salt Pond.
I'd read it was a good place to find collectible driftwood and I did along with some cool rocks.

King Park

Newport
Grass and trees with benches and a walk to use for jogging, walking the dog, or just strolling.
Great walking paths and a beach.

South Shore Beach

Little Compton
Positive is it is a great beach, if you walk far enough you can just about find yourself on a semi private beach or join the crowd 100 feet from the car.
This beach has parking directly along the sand and also has various port-a-potties for beach goes to use.
Wonderful waves to swim in or use surf boards -- and you see Block Island off in the distance.
On the other hand, the presence of the Vanilla Bean right next door is a huge advantage - excellent for that post-beach ice cream.
SO I am tempted to give the beach 1 star to keep others away from this excellent, small place where the locals swim, but I will be truthful and say that the waves are great, the beach is great for walking and ther...
However know this beach parking is very expensive on the weekends. It is a fantastic beach, and very clean and has great waves.

Kelly Beach

Narragansett
Beautiful neighbor surrounds the beach; great place for a walk in the morning.
It's a gorgeous beach, perfect for families with small children, there is no parking, so it's only for people in the immediate walking area.
