Currituck Beach Corolla
We rented a jeep and drove the miles of beaches, stopping to watch mares with their colts prancing around the dunes and splashing into the ocean.
That being said, the beaches are beautiful here without a doubt and we still enjoyed playing in the water when we could!

Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach Ocracoke
Having grown up going to the New Jersey shore every summer the beach is definitely my happy place but these days I find most of the New Jersey beaches way too crowded for my taste.
It's a great privilege to have beautiful beaches to enjoy let's be sure to maintain that privilege for future generations.
Cape Hatteras National Seashore Hatteras Island
Beautiful lighthouses and grat historic sites along with wonderful beaches make this a must visit in the Outer Banks!

Carova Beach Carova
Having been to some of the most beaches in the world, imagine my surprise to travel off season to the outer banks of NC and realize that YES INDEED, right here in the ol' US of A is one SPECTACULAR beach: Corolla.
Although there are areas of the beach that you need to be mindful of at high tide, for the most part and definitely at low tide the beaches are wide expanses of white clean sand.

Oak Island Beach Oak Island
Love, love, love Oak Island beaches in the late summer and early fall !! Cool breezes, yet plenty of sunshine too.
The beaches face South, so you have the added attraction of being able to see both sunrise and sunset over the ocean.
Holden Beach Holden Beach

I've been to a number of beaches--Pacific Coast (CA and WA); Lake Michigan; Gulf of Mexico (from FL to AL to TX); Atlantic Coast (FL)--and this is the cleanest, most family friendly and least busy beach of them all.
Frisco Beach Frisco
... (great place to fish, sunbathe, surf when the wind is right), and just enjoy an nice section of beach washed by the Gulf Stream Currents (water can be much warmer than the more northern beaches above Buxton).
More excellent Outer Banks beaches can be found here.
Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge Rodanthe
Waves were just right for our nine year old to enjoy, compared to some rougher surf on other area beaches.
Beautiful beaches for privacy and relaxation
Wrightsville Beach Wrightsville Beach
Clear blue/green water, clean sandy beaches, friendly people, plenty of places to stay close to the water, many surfers and fisherman, and good restaurants such as the Oceanic.
Peaceful and quiet, beautiful sandy beaches, we enjoyed the scenery and warm weather.

The Point Emerald Isle
Big expansive beaches and lovely ocean views with birds and other wildlife each day.
If you're into a hike, you can grab some lunch and drinks at the shopping center on the end of Coast Guard Road, then take the bike path to where you can cut down one of the local streets to a beach access.
Canadian Hole Buxton
Beautiful sunsets, nice beach, fantastic boarding most of the time
I love the ocean but it’s nice to spend at least one beach day here.
Coquina Beach
Plenty of space to spread out and seemed like a quieter vibe than some of the other OBX beaches, we will definitely be back!
This beach is south of the more touristy section of the Outer Banks, opposite the Bodie Lighthouse, and has beautiful white sand for sand castle building, waves for jumping, birds for watching, and changing rooms...
