The mining experience was awesome - even adults get carried away in the fun of seeking out hidden treasure and sifting the sand in the mill as you discover beautiful crystals, minerals, geodes and fossils.
My college friends and I all had a blast mining and Kyle was super awesome and even gave us some leftover geodes other people didn’t want!! Goats were super cute and it’s a cute homey place!!

They are very knowledgeable about the science, history, geology, and everything else that goes into how these little rocks become something so unique.
We visited 2 different gem mining places while in Boone, hands down, Foggy Mountain Gem Mining is the place to spend your time and money, awesome staff, great finds in our bucket, super chill atmosphere.
This place rocks, kids of all ages have a great time here and my daughter sure enjoyed her visit here she did buy one bucket and got some beautiful jams out of her for her efforts of mining.

We each came back with a loaded bucket of amazing rocks and lots and lots of quality gems - aquamarine, black tourmaline, quartz and garnets.
The workers were very polite and helpful in identifying the gem types as well as offering the opportunity to have our gems cut into various forms of jewelry.
