This is powerful you get see what happened that day through the eyes of the people who were there. You can feel the emotion, fear, and most of all the pulling together of strangers helping one another. Note: they do have tissues & garbage cans to put those tissues in. Worth the trip & everyone should see this.

We came by for the day to look around. It was my first time but my friends had been here before. The lines for the tickets was very long so we ended up just buying the tickets online there and it was a lot faster. It was handy that they had free Wifi.
After getting the tickets in the email, we were able to just head in to the first display. There are multiple levels of things to see and the museum is segregated into different areas. This can make planning for going through the museum easier. I ended up just going floor by floor and seeing what was there.
With all the myriad of things to see, I really enjoyed the Egyptian exhibits particularly the Temple of Dendur, which was inside a huge interior space. The Greek and Roman sculptures were also quite fascinating, particularly the intricate ones carved in stone. The war area with weapons and armor was also interesting.
The paintings were located on the top floor and the main stairway from the atrium leads directly to it. The numbered room helps with traversing the enormous gallery. There were so many different paintings in the area and I really enjoyed the nature scenes. The ginormous paintings were also quite impressive and nice to look at.
It is very hard to see and admire everything in a day. I managed to see most things but I wasn't able to spend much time to take in the displays. It helped that I was there on a Friday and it was open later. I had to leave "early" (1730) for another event but otherwise might have been able to see everything in the day. Definitely, a must-do in New York and can be done over several days to make it less hectic.

I made the mistake of visiting on a weekend, which meant the museum was insanely packed even in January. There were too many noisy children and I think they overfilled the museum. The exhibits themselves though, I can’t fault. Many interesting galleries. A highlight is the gems and minerals exhibit

Perched on a hilltop in northern Manhattan, overlooking the Hudson River, the Cloisters is calm oasis of peace, quiet, and medieval art, architecture, and gardening. This was our third visit - it is a beautiful place.

MoMA is arguably the best museum in NYC. Many standards, such as masterpieces by Picasso. But also surprises, such as a brilliant 30-panel series by Jacob Lawrence on the Black migration from the South to Chicago. Or a new massive installation by a Nigerian artist featuring a tapestry as tall as the museum itself--5 or 6 floors. I also enjoyed eating in the cafe with a friend. I downgraded a star because of an experience I had toward the end of the day. I couldn't locate Van Gogh's Starry Night and asked a staff member in the relevant 5th floor gallery where it was. He kept saying I should consult the museum website online, which was weird. I thought all the staff could answer such a question. I just couldn't find the info online. When I got back to my hotel and dug around, I realized Starry Night had been captured for a special exhibit dedicated to a famous donor and was actually on the 2nd floor. Googling had only info saying go to the 5th floor for Starry Night, and the MoMA website was so packed with info that I couldn't easily find it. I still don't know whether the staff member had the info or not, but the museum's signage and website should have been clearer on this. The museum store features so much merch on Starry Night that they understand its popularity. There should be a lobby sign at all times just identifying the gallery where it is. I saw it many years ago but would have liked to see it again, and this is probably my final trip to New York.

Review of Intrepid Endeavor 2024 Trip
This cruise to the South Georgia Islands and South Shetland Islands and Antarctica rates 5 stars. The reasons are listed below.
    • The Captain and Cruise Director were outstanding in finding places with good weather for the excursions. This especially occurred when rough weather set in and they quickly found a new place for an excursion.
    • The Captain did an outstanding job of weather navigation and with the Operations officer even obtained special Chilian permission to sail within the limits near Cape Horn.
    • The lectures on birds, mammals, history, etc. were excellent and every day.
    • They were highly organized so the excursions ran smoothly.
    • The Endeavor ship was late to embarkation port of Montevideo due to a hurricane. Intrepid paid for the extra hotel days and provide excursions in Montevideo every day.
    • After many requests, Intrepid did provide 10 GB of free onboard WIFI – given the delay and the result of missing the stop in the Falkland Islands
    • At the end of the cruise in Ushuaia, Intrepid also provide either a credit on future cruises or a 10% cash back on the paid berth amount.
    • The ship Endeavor Madrid is an older ship built in the 1980s. Some things just did not work like streaming the ship’s cameras to the cabin monitors or monitor tracking of the ship’s position and progress. The HVAC system was also a challenge.
    • The meals always had a wide variety of choices, even for a vegetarian.
    • The booking customer services representatives were always very helpful.
    Again – a full 5 stars.

I don’t know why ai waited so long to visit phenomenal Morgan Library, but finally I made this remarkable journey in the temple of books collected by famous financier Pierpont Morgan…

You enter the East Room through the magnificent Italian style Rotunda and the first thing that takes you’d breath away is its magnificent intricately carved wooden ceiling. Elegant rows of three-story inlaid walnut bookshelves display magnificent leather bound volumes, medieval illuminated manuscripts, rare documents, letters, original writings, richly adorned bibles (including Gutenberg Bible dated 1454–1455)…

The West Room (Pierpont Morgan’s study) has his desk, the rows of books on the shelves and superb collection of priceless paintings (think Memling, Lucas Cranach, Tintoretto, etc. !) and sculptures. The opulent furniture and chandeliers are stunning as well.

You can only wonder how much effort it takes to preserve this magnificent library and mansion in its original shape…

The exhibitions are located in the separate wing of the Morgan’s Mansion. I was very fortunate to see the exhibit dedicated to Frank Kafka’s short life and his works. It was very interesting and informative.

If you think of a museum where everything is done the right way, this is the Morgan’s Library. Such a treasure!

We took the "After the Famine" tour and our tour guide, Mauricia (not sure of the spelling) was absolutely amazing. One of the best tour guides I've ever had for any tour all over the world. She was articulate, so educated on the subject, and very passionate about history. Great tour and wonderful experience!

We came to Ellis Island as part of a
visit to liberty island. We learnt a lot about the island from listening to the
audio tour as we walked around. The rooms in the building were very hot, which spoilt the tour as some rooms we had to skip due to the temperature in them being unbearable which was a shame!

The kids had fun! The feeling was nostalgic seeing the evolution of play and video games. It is a place for all ages. The kids particularly liked the Level Up Area where they can play with giant video games. The museum was also interactive.

I’m not a huge baseball fanatic, but while visiting friends in Cooperstown, NY, I figured, “When in Rome…” and decided to take a tour of the Baseball Hall of Fame. I’m happy to say that even if you’re not a die-hard baseball fan, if you’re a fan of history, it’s an absolute must-see! The stories, artifacts, and legacy showcased there are truly fascinating.
