It's a great chance to let yourself be a kid again and play with all the fun and play with all the fun interactive science displays.The super large bubble maker is always a favorite!
The kids were nice and polite, graciously letting us take turns as we explored the bubble room, rode the aerial bike, and experimented with water, wind, gravity, music, puzzles, flew the airplane, etc.
White Sands National Monument Alamogordo
White Sands has so many faces, fun for the kids dune surfing, romantic strolls, photo opportunities, beautiful sunsets, and quiet serenity.
It seems 1/2 of Texas was there, families with picnics, climbing the white sand dunes, sledding and saucerring down, some with umbrellas others sun bathing, a very unique area .

There’s a wide variety of gorgeous displays, interesting exhibits, and the children’s fantasy garden is outstanding!
Be sure to ask some of the volunteers at the garden model railroad some questions, they are very knowledgeable and will really make the kids feel special.

Aztec Ruins National Monument Aztec
Also humbling to learn of the man Morris, who built his lovely family home next to the ruins (it's now the Park office) so that he could devote his life to excavating and preserving it.
The walk around the monument is easy and the kids liked walking through the Great Houses.

The professional staff is helpful and friendly and the many volunteer staff members are knowledgeable and willing to help adults and children.

Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge San Antonio
The visitor center has some good interactive displays, a theater, and offers the junior ranger program for kids.
The Sand hill cranes take off in small groups or families, but they are spectacular with their wide wingspan and dancing on the water.

Rio Grande Nature Center State Park Albuquerque
Easy to find, fun for kids, walking , hike on the paths , all flat , all safe and go down to the River ( the Rio Grande ), lots of wild life !
He was welcoming, helpful and very informative about how the center got started, the architectural significance of the building, grounds and gardens and especially about the programs that are offered for children.
Mesalands Community College's Dinosaur Museum and Natural Sciences Laboratory Tucumcari
Exhibits included prehistoric timelines, rocks and minerals, fossils, dinosaur eggs, many footprints, a lot of hands-on displays for kids and a large viewing window of people cleaning the samples.
Perfect size place for children educational and even had a fun area to dig up fossils for kids.
The Harrell House Bug Museum Santa Fe
I can see why children, especially young boys, love this place...and adults can learn to appreciate them for the way that they fit into their own habitats as they evolved over millions of years.
This museum is a gem, a must see and a great place to take kids.

We had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!! It’s best enjoyed by adults, but the little kids enjoyed much of it too.

Great park, family and pet friendly!! Lots of space, lots of good hiking/running trails!! Lots of special events through spring/summer/fall seasons.
If you have young children, keep them near you.
Valles Caldera National Preserve Jemez Springs
The young lady Ranger asked Ranger Jacob the latest on the bear sighting along the trail that the young family wanted to hike. 
The whole walk is child friendly and you might see elk, prairie dogs and a lot of birds.
City of Rocks State Park Deming

Our children participate in the NPS Junior Ranger program, and Pecos NHP has workbooks for both Pecos NHP and the Santa Fe National Historic Trail.

The NM Museum of Natural History is a must see for folks with children or an interest in the archaeological & geologic (or even computer) history of New Mexico.
It's great for families and one of my favorite spots to take the kiddos whenever we stop in ABQ.

Excellent get away for couple and families plenty to do or plenty of time to detox from the cell phone,tv, and work!
The township of Lincoln is very cozy, great place to see a little history of Billy the Kid.
Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum Albuquerque
The museum is laid out well, with beautiful displays and a few good photo ops as well as a hands-on area for the kids (or kids at heart.)
Families can learn about flight and during the baloon fiesta thousands of visitors head to the park to watch the balloons ascend and partcipate in the balloon glow!
Recycled Roadrunner Sculpture Las Cruces
When we lived in LC in the 90's this sculpture by a local artist was at the dump and kids and adults loved seeing it.
Kids love this thing if their parents are hip enough to know about it and find it.

Boasts a small planetarium and hosts a variety of educational events throughout the year.They even have a kids area with activities and play areas set up! Also, FREE (except for the planetarium).
Ski Santa Fe Santa Fe
The upper mountain has a great selection of blues with lots of trails through the trees that my kids loved.
For really good skiers who just love to zip down the mountain all day, Taos is probably more appropriate, but for me and my friends and family, this is a great place!
